A taste of some of tomorrow’s performances!
The only video I have had shared with me from our performance at the Church features our newest budding musicians Grace Gould on mandolin and Lili Simkin on the fiddle.
Doing a great job of leading in the background are Keaton Kenzie Reagan and Gabe.
Last one! Proof that Bruce Gould was there to help us out. We’re always better with Bruce back there on the guitar or the piano.
We made lots of music at the Lake but Of course I only got to record a snippet.
You can just see how much trouble Victoria has gathering the horses.
Just stand in the corner with the oats and wait. It doesn’t take long. 😁
Cheri and Heather aced this cover. And added some variety
Family Band update. Wyatt worked on a few dubs and added some guitar tracks and he is done!!!
And another teaser. Love that harmonica work Tyrell.
Victoria is doing great on the flattop considering she just started playing at the beginning of COVID!
Last night’s progress on the family band album.
We have finished Tyrell’s tracks! 🎶🎻🎤🪗
Our hope is to have it available at the Lions Gun Show.
Woo Hoo!!!!
The Barb’wire album is done! On to
Mixing and Mastering.
Serena Mackenzie gets to share kudos as well.
This video demonstrates a perfect example of “playing through a mistake”!
Wait till the next measure and then jump back in and finish on time.
We’ll done girl.
Further progress on the album! Our little Isobelle finished the lap steel tracks.
Thanks to Landon Letniak and Kenzie and Keaton Schaffer for being brave enough to answer Reverend Kwon’s request for Christmas music during the nativity displays at the church last Saturday.
Though they were totally unrehearsed they gave it their best shot! I’m so proud of you all.
I meant to share this video last spring!
Just found it again !
These two sisters have done amazingly well after a short year of lessons.
A great job done by Mackenzie and Serena.
Thanks to Darcy West for joining us at the Battle River lodge in Wainwright! The residents loved it🤩 and so did we.
We stopped in at the Islay Assisted Living Facility to surprise and say hello and play some tunes for Gordon Gould but he surprised us by marching down the hall with his fiddle and joining right in. Considering he’s 99 that’s pretty special.
Had to share this. Justine was our lighting tech as you can see the only lights we had was her phone! ( we were on a generator for power!)
She still managed a mighty fine duet with Tyrell. And we can see Kelsey back there with her mandolin 😁
We had to make “do” for a stage at the Cereal Bronc Bustin!
Wyatt brushed off the Arena dust and joined us for a few tunes after the performance.
Ashton Penman’s flat picking version of Boil them Cabbage Down was done at a it slower speed for fiddle students to practice with.
He does work up a sweat when he plays it faster! Fantastic job Ash! Thanks for being a good sport!
Gabe Sortland has been hearing this song since he was little. He asked to learn it and I’d say he’s succeeded!
He does a fantastic job covering Maidens Prayer.
