Sometimes on this little journey of running a business you get to meet some pretty awesome people. Travis from Calyx Floral Design is definitely one of them. I mentioned to my beautiful friend Travis that I really needed to get some photos done of myself in my element, and she said, 'well why dont you just come join us at our photos?'

I had visions of myself jumping several feet high behind her team, with a chair in one hand and gold cutlery in the other, but as much as I'm sure you'd all love to see that, I was just a smidge too pregnant for those shenanigans this day.

Oh hey! It's me! Larissa.

I'm the owner of Copper Cloud Events, and the person you'll talk to when you're booking your rentals with us.
Honestly, I get very nervous getting my picture taken, but Jessica from Candid Connection Photography and I had some good silliness and laughs to lighten me up before this shot. I think it might be my favorite ever, because it feels like "me!"

We had a great time at the Hilltop open house this year, and I got to show off so many of my pretty things. I'm looking forward to another great summer creating gorgeous weddings, backyard bbqs and business open houses. Can't wait to see you all!

I recently joined the Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce, and out comes a newsletter telling me that their next event is at Sky Wings Aviation Academy.
That got me thinking, about how we actually did a wedding there! In that very hangar. And... it was absolutely gorgeous. Why this one has never been pulled out of the archives and shared, is beyond me. But better late than never right?

It’s definitely not Easter or even close to it, but we are working on a rebrand so I googled my business to see my logo, and stumbled across this article. It made me so happy to read and reminded me of this crazy long journey we just came out of.

This last couple years I’ve been really trying to reduce our impact on the environment. That being said, I’m wondering if there is a local creator that repurposes broken glass. We get a large variety as you can imagine 😆, some clear, some colored, some textured. If there is some way that this beautiful glass could find new life, it would make me SO happy!! 🌏

Tasks include:
Washing dinnerware, cutlery and glassware
Washing and pressing event linens
Cleaning miscellaneous rental equipment
Cleaning and moving rental chairs, tables, and other bulky event equipment
Driving truck and trailer as needed
Setting up and taking down weddings
Delivering and loading tool equipment rentals

Requirements-
A GREAT ATTITUDE
Quick learner
Driver’s License
Ability to work independently
Work a variety of hours, including occasional midnight-3am shift (paid at premium rate) I am able to accommodate most schedule requirements, if you need specific hours off during the day, we can work together on a schedule that works best for everyone
Attention to detail
Can move quickly and work efficiently
Willingness to learn to drive with a trailer, training provided
Able to carry bulky, somewhat heavy loads and do physically intensive work at times
Willingness to learn about small yard equipment for our supplementary tool rental company

Interview is a paid working interview, where you and I will work together prepping rentals to see if we are a good fit for each other and if the job is a good fit for you. If we decide that either way it’s not a good fit, you will still be paid for this time.

Do we take last minute rentals?
Yes we do!
But, if you’re reading this and planning ahead we don’t recommend it. Most of our clients book 8-12 months ahead, so the closer we get to your date, the greater the chance that your items may not be available. Also, we are a super small team here at Copper Cloud, so if we can finalize your rentals before our busy season that leaves some space for our clients who need last minute bookings. Regardless of when you reach out to us, we will do our best to make your vision come true!
PS: the wedding shown here was anything but last minute, but that’s a story for a future blog post. 😉

What’s my favorite thing to set up? Easy peasy to answer that question. Draping!! Every install is completely unique and offers it’s own set of challenges and opportunities to get it ‘just so.’ Every time I go into a new venue, I get a twinge of butterflies the night before, wondering what the next day will bring. My husband pep talks me, I look at my plan a few more times, and then I toss and turn until I’m ready to get up and get. it. done. Yeah, I’m weird. I get a little adrenaline from draping. 🤫

Looking at our Instagram I have to chuckle a bit. We do so many beautiful beautiful weddings and I hardly post anything! The photo I take isn't good enough, I forget to download the photographer's album, or I download it and get overwhelmed choosing the right picture. I see a flaw that no one else would notice or I worry that it won't flow with the rest of my sad little feed. Don't get me started on choosing the perfect hashtags and what to write...
