Spoilt for choice in the cutting garden right now and these Icelandic poppies are the perfect pair with Castlewellen sweet peas.

Throw ‘em in some milk glass and call it a day!

Shout out to these cutting garden gems! Sweet pea earl grey. ✨

Sweet peas just keep giving at this time of year, with plenty of flowers for cutting nearly daily.

I grow them for wedding clients as they add a wonderful fragrance and whimsical quality to arrangements and bouquets.

Growing them myself allows me to cut them farther down the vine so you get some of that cute curly foliage, which is my favourite part!

Also growing castelwellan, high scents and king’s ransom this year, in love with them all.

Still not over these little things ✨

Still a favourite for weddings and events, bud vases are the sweetest addition to your space, whether it’s a backyard or a ballroom.

I love that they allow me to use those small delicate blooms that just won’t fit into larger arrangement.

One of my favourite flowers, Viola, Nature Antique Shades, are the perfect size for tucking into these little arrangements. ✨

You know it’s a good time to get married when the peonies, Icelandic poppies, bearded irises, foxgloves and ranunculus are all in season ✨

Congrats to this lovely couple who got married in May on the stunning island of Galiano!

I love getting to turn work travel into a mini vacay, so I delivered the flowers and spend the evening camping in my truck at Montague Harbour.

All around a beautiful weekend ✨

Icelandic poppy, what a woman ✨

Blooming for months in cool spring and summer weather, pushing out blooms that require daily harvesting.

She is delicate in the vase but those 3-5 days are pure joy.

Get into peony season before it’s done for another year! ✨

Had to treat myself to a vase full. They are one of the flowers I haven’t been able to grow as I am on rented land. They take about 3 years from bare root plants to get flowers for cutting so sadly I can’t commit to the long game flowers.

Luckily, there are some incredible growers just outside of Vancouver that grow a wide variety of stunning peonies.

The lupines stealing the show out at ✨

What wild and wonderful flowers, with their vivid colors extending from bottom to top as each floret opens.

They make me want to throw a party under a circus tent, leaning into their garish beauty by adding yellows, reds and a dash of white to match the stripes 🎪
