Choosing your venue determines not only the date and location, but the vibe, the budget, the location in which you search for and hire your vendors, accommodation and travel options for your guests, and most importantly for YOU!

Most people think that they just need to find a place that “looks pretty” and that fits within the budget. OF COURSE this is true; but there are a lot of micro details that go into this search that will assist your budget, planning process and logistics throughout the planning process.

Happy Monday!
We’re back with my favourite topic as you all know, wedding music!

Here is a tip for you! Make some playlists that are collaborative with you and your partner and everyone you hear or think of one that would be a good fit, throw it in!

As you get to around a month before your wedding, spend some nights in listening through the playlists and fine tuning before the big day!

Here are a few special moment songs to remember to choose:

- ceremony walking down the aisle (parents, family, wedding party and of course the couple, separate or together)
- signing during the ceremony
- officially announced husband and wife and recession
- entrance into reception
- father/daughter and mother/son dances if applicable
- couples first dance

*I always suggest choosing the first song that you want to play to open the dance floor for you and your guests!*

As much as I love being on the ground at all of your events in the summer, in person site visits in the spring, and all the chaos that the event season brings, I loveeee the planning season.

You can find me in various cafes, coworking spaces and airbnbs all over the world as I embrace the season remotely and typically escape Canadian winter!

I feel so productive, efficient, and have the space and time to take a step back after an event season to make changes and adjustments as needed, and really plan, envision and manifest what I want the next season to bring for me and for my team!

So far this season I’ve been spending my time on planning and business development from:
- Panama City, Panama
- Bocas Del Toro, Panama
- Sam Bala Islands, Panama
- Cartagena, Colombia
- Mexico City
- Playa Maderas, Nicaragua

The clear top tent will always be our fave!

We often hear the term “simple tent wedding”
Although there are certainly ways to keep the aesthetic of a tent wedding elegant and “simple”, logistically there is nothing simple about it. Don’t get us wrong, they are our favourite, but we are literally creating a venue.
Things to think of include and are not limited to;
• Tent
• Lighting and electricity (possible generator)
• tables and chairs
• plates cutlery glassware linens
• portable washrooms
• lighting to washrooms
• bar and ice
• flooring and any decor or drapery

Sneak away in the corner, flag me down and tell me you need food (you prob won’t have to cause I’ll be chasing you with trays of it) and tell your photographer you need 5. Eat your damn food. 5 YEARS AGO!!!!!!! 🖤🥂🥹

November 2017 I took the leap and left the corporate world
January 2018 I started my name and brand and business with little to no expectations
February 2018 (this photo!) I planned and executed my first event under - an intimate birthday party for 40 people with music and food and cupcakes and balloons and from that day on I learned, and still continue to learn SO much from all of you as clients, fellow vendors, coaches, friends and family.

I could make this post literally 100 pages long but I will summarize it by just thanking you. Thank you thank you thank you, so much, then, now, always!!!! For trusting me with your details, your vision, your dreams, the biggest best days of your life, my crazy ideas, and giving me the opportunity to seriously build a lifestyle so rewarding and fulfilling

Your day is ENTIRELY what you make it, and don’t get me wrong I love all the beautiful decor and florals and sparkly beautiful things, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned in this industry, it’s that the day is about the LOVE- the people, the atmosphere and your outlook. • • Lindsay and Paul will forever be one of my favourite love stories with @moandcoevent We spent lovely afternoons in coffee shops, and at their home with their pups planning their big day. When the day come it started to rain as Lindsay drove down the aisle with her dad. It rained through the ceremony and into the night through the reception. It’s that moment that could’ve “ruined” someone’s big day. They embraced and welcomed this with open arms. They all smiled in it, said their vows in it, kissed in it, and in turn me and my team hustled around in it all day/night. They didn’t let anything get in the way or having the best day of their lives ♥️

⭐️ EPIC MO&CO MOMENT⭐️ • • Okay, yesterday we had a killer moment take place at one of our weddings at @dymentsmarket Hilary & Marcus are HUGE @arkellsmusic fans! I mean who isn’t- and their maid of honour reached out to the band to express how much the couple loved them, so much so that they were using “11:11” for their first dance • • Max, from @arkellsmusic sent a personalized video to the couple to wish them a special day! 🎥: @twenty5films
