Christmas is here and I’m sharing once again why it’s my favourite time of the year! ♥️
Like many, I love the nostalgia and nuances of this season… my kids coming home, work pressure reprieve, and another opportunity to decorate the house.
I don’t have to look far though, to know that our world groans with the suffering of many, hope seems lost and pain is deep.. BUT thats why I love Christmas.. because there is a message of hope that excludes none and can bring peace and joy to all, regardless of circumstances!
One of my favourite quotes is “Peace comes not from the absence of trouble, but from the presence of God.”
This Christmas story… I am still amazed by the uniqueness of its central theme… unlike any other story or historical event. Every human, deeply loved by the creator himself, who comes into the world dies on a cross where God the father punishes him for the sin of the world! Jesus the substitute. The free gift of Forgiveness granted from a holy God to a sinful world.. now thats a gift!
Billy Graham said this., “The very purpose of Christ’s coming into the world was that He might offer up His life as a sacrifice for the sins of men. He came to die. This is the heart of Christmas.”
Jesus the baby of the manger is Jesus our saviour on the cross! And it’s a love story that does not belong to a particular group or nation, but rather an incredible gift available to the whole world and to any who receive it! So this is why Christmas is my favourite time of the year! I’ve received the ‘gift’ and it has transformed my heart. His mercy and grace are sufficient for me... and it is well with soul!

Thanks be unto God for His indescribable gift’ 2 Corinthians 9:15
