HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our founder (and my fiancé 😍) Grant! 🎉🥂
You may have heard this little story before, but in 2018 pitched me an idea to transform an old horse trailer into a unique mobile beverage business.
It hadn't been done in Winnipeg and was a brand new concept in Canada. We had no idea if it would take off, but his passion and excitement kept us focused and determined to succeed.

Back in 2018, I had an idea. And, with the unwavering support of my partner Brianna, we started Nomad Box Bar!
It has truly been a whirlwind!!! An amazing experience, and tireless nights all in one.

2019 - Original Box Bar
2020 - Box Bar 180
2020 - 6 Portable Bars including our Trolly Bars and Trike Bar.
2021 - Mocktail classes and take home drink kits.
2021 - Acquisition of our home base with renovations to accommodate our trailers and future development including kitchen spaces, rental kitchen and more.
2022 - Lux Bar
2022 - completion of our new commercial kitchen
2023 - completion of our newly renovated rental kitchen.
2023 - soft launch of the Nomad Speakeasy Event Center
2024 - Full Launch of the Nomad Event Center , with sound system, extra storage, blacked out ceiling, and more including our very own liquor licence!

2025 - YOU will just have to wait and see!!!

We have been blessed with fantastic friendships, both with other vendors and our clients.

While we have always focused on an inclusive beverage service, with or without alcohol, now more than ever, we are pouring ourselves into this amazing area of alcohol free spirits, tasty beverages and an elevated bar service.

and a lil story about us 💞

A year or so into dating Grant said "I have a crazy idea for a biz, wanna hear it?" I don't know what I was expecting from my creative & intelligent guy but I don't think it was "rusty horse trailer reno + elevated beverage services" LOL!
Because I was crazy about him, I jumped two feet into this journey (see last pic for the day we started the OG Box Bar- Cira 2018).
Together we worked weekends and evenings and spent our spare time building the 'side hustle' that would one day transform our lives.
..and fell deeply in love during the process 🥹💞

CHEERS! This year marked our 6th summer serving people all over Manitoba and even into eastern Ontario. We finished the outdoor season with a beautiful wedding near Steinbach this past weekend. We could not have asked for a better night. Our couple was fantastic, the weather was beautiful, and the guests were amazing. We will take a few days off this week as we prepare for fall indoor parties and events followed by many holiday parties.

Welcome to Winnipeg's newest special event centre. The Nomad Event Center is an intimate space for all types of social gatherings. Set in a speakeasy style vibe, complete with contemporary industrial furniture, Edison style lighting, sonos sound system and multiple bar choices, we can make every event unique.

Bring in your own caterer or select from our preferred vendor list, and we will, of course, take care of all your beverage needs.

Pair the event with our in house cocktail/ mocktail classes for a truly unique and equally enjoyable evening.

6 years ago, we embarked on a crazy adventure where we thought we would construct a mobile bar out of a 40 year old horse trailer.

Fast forward to today and we have now built and operate3 beautiful mobile bars, 7 portable bars, multiple high top tables, portable beverage stations a commissary with 2 fully renovated commercial kitchens and a 100 seat speak easy style event venue.

We produce our own syrups, create our own cocktail and mocktail mixes and recipes, and do full beverage consultation and planning for all of our events.

Brianna and I still have more ideas and plans and can't wait to share more news in the coming weeks and months.

But first, I want to publicly thank Brianna again for believing in my first idea and supporting me as we formed our path together and started up this little company. Brianna has been my rock, my supporter, and a cheer leader for me and our company. She has formed its direction and encourages the creation of tasty beverages with or without alcohol. We believe everyone should feel free to get a beautiful tasty drink from the bar without the stigma of having to consume alcohol.

We believe it's no one's business but ours to know what's in your cup. Because... We give a sip!

Recently we had a wedding guest give us the most wonderful compliment. It wasn't on our tasty drinks or esthetic of the bar (which we gratefully hear at most events! 🙏🏼)
It was about our "presense" 🥹

💞"We were watching you two while they were saying their vows and it looked like you were going to cry like the rest of us! You had such big smiles! We can tell you really care about being here"💞

The wedding industry is hard work 🥵 and we work long hours behind the scenes, and on set 😉. Knowing your guests appreciate our passion and gratitude for the role we play keeps us going all season! And we are grateful for your business.

🎉We started Nomad to provide inclusive beverages to events & gatherings across Manitoba. I (Brianna!) don't consume alcohol and was always feeling left out and frustrated with never having a drink offering that was elevated at events.
🥹 In fact, I felt singled out and a little embarassed only having a pop, when everyone else had fancy cocktails.

🍹As a Sober bartender I wanted to change the drinking culture by offering beverages that were thoughtful, well made and fresh with or without alcohol.
Nomad was born!

🍾Together with my partner Grant we have developed inclusive menus to suit EVERYONE and having beautiful bars to do it from has been our joy and passion.
