2025 couples, have you heard? As of January 13th, postage costs have gone up in Canada - so make sure to budget accordingly when planning your dream wedding invitations!⁠

Working with a stationery expert like Amber from doesn't only guarantee that your wedding invitations will be dreamy; your custom stationery designer will be able to help guide you in terms of expected postage costs for your design as well! ⁠

We'll need to take into account:⁠
⁠⁠
💌 Paper Type⁠
Heavier paper stocks definitely add an extra level of elegance to an invitation - but it will also add to the overall weight. Did you know that if your invitation weighs more than 30 grams, you'll need an "oversize" lettermail stamp?⁠
⁠
💌 Embellishments⁠
Adding a custom wax seal, or tying your invitation suite together with a pretty silk ribbon will add thickness to your invitations - and will usually also result in needing an "oversize" stamp.⁠
⁠
💌 RSVPs⁠
Are you asking your guests to mail in their RSVPs instead of having them RSVP online? This will require a whole extra stamp (and envelope!) per invitation!⁠
⁠
⁠The #1 recommendation from the pros? Always, always, always take a complete sample of your wedding invitation to the post office to be weighed and measured before you purchase stamps (or put anything in the mail!)⁠

One of my favourite parts of planning with my couples is working together to design a tablescape that is not only gorgeous, but specially curated and personal to them. ⁠

But how do we curate an extraordinary tablescape? I always like to start with these five steps:⁠
⁠
🍴 Decide on a base layer:⁠
Does your venue provide tables for you to use, or will you need to rent them? Round, rectangular, square, oval, or an artistic mix - which table shapes do you prefer? ⁠
⁠
⁠🍴 Dress in layers:⁠
Start with your tablecloth, and layer on linens, dinnerware, china and glassware. Don't be afraid to think outside the box, mixing shapes, colours, and textures to create a look that feels right to you!⁠
⁠
🍴 Spruce up the centre:⁠
Consider your flowers, greenery, and even your table numbers when creating your centrepieces. How will each element coordinate (or contrast) with the colours and textures of the table settings you've chosen, to create a cohesive look?⁠
⁠
🍴 Give it a glow-up:⁠
For instant romance and visual interest, incorporate candles in varying heights, sizes, and holders. Looking to go the extra mile? Forego the 'typical' white candles and try a colour that compliments your overall aesthetic!⁠

🍴 Add some sprinkles:⁠
Small personal touches like dinner menus, place cards, and favours can all double as décor and help complete the look of your tablescape. Incorporate more layers of colour and texture with these items to create the perfect finishing touch to your tabletop!⁠
