Are you guilty of these mistakes? ⤵️
🚫 Not cutting the stems before you put your flowers back into water. Cut stems start to seal up the moment they begin to dry out. That "scab" prevents fresh water uptake causing droopy flower heads or wilted blooms 🥀
👉 Trim at least an inch off the end of your flower stems so they have an open stem to drink out of.
🚫 Placing your flowers in direct sunlight is going to cause them to open faster and cause more bacteria to grow in the water 🥵
👉 Keep your flowers out of bright, direct sunlight, and away from heat sources (near a stove or above a heat register)
🚫 Not changing the water. General rule of thumb: if you wouldn't drink the water, your flowers aren't going to want to either. Cloudy/murky water means bacteria are flourishing. 🦠
👉 Change the water in your flower vase every 2-3 days. Trim the ends of your flower stems so they get to enjoy the fresh water from a clean stem end!
