The Queen's Tarts opened their first stand alone bakery and cafe downtown Sault Ste. Marie in June 2019, where they still provide their delicious buttertarts, tasty treats, and much more. So delicious and so worth the drive. But the best is yet to come at the taking place at Burlington Centre on Sat August 10 from 10-4pm. Admission is free.

Butter tarts are proudly Canadian, and are all hand made from scratch using the freshest ingredients and baked on premise. There are no frozen shells or fillings with our tarts! All are handmade. We offer over twenty different flavours of butter tarts from the traditional Plain, to Chocolate Chip, Coconut, Raisin Walnut and our signature tart Raspberry. Vanessa Chiara took her dad's famous Ricotta recipe that she watched her dad create after his trip to Sicily as a young baker many years ago and turned it into a business featuring mouthwatering Cannoli. And Holy Cannoli it was! Delicious, wanting for more! Each year, she continues to grow and expand.

Recently Vanessa added butter tart cannoli's and did we mention gluten free to her ever popular tasty treats in honour of her dad!

Meet Jason Young, owner of The Buttertart Shack

I started baking and selling pies and tarts to my friends so I would pass my baking class in school. 10 years ago in May I attended my first farmers market with buttertarts and pies and we sold out the first day. Every week we would sell out so we decided to attend a buttertart festival in 2017. We won first place, and didn't really pursue more festivals due to catering. We are now coming back to the festival circuit to see if we can do it again.

What our customers find exciting is the new flavor we offer every week, with over 30 different flavors it makes for a surprise every time!!

We have also just recently added a keto/gluten free tart plain or with our keto flavors (maple bacon, pecan, Lily's chocolate chip) this tart boasts 1.5 net carbs and is delicious!!!
You would think it is a regular buttertart.

Downtown Barrie offers over 2000 public parking spaces within the Dunlop St. E area.

In the visual, the parking lots are colour-coded on the map: Teal, Pink, Beige, and Navy, each with different rates on weekdays. However, 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔!

The Collier Parkade on Collier Street shown here in Teal, a spacious parking garage with over 300 spots.

You’ll find RVH Auxiliary’s sweetest volunteers this weekend at Downtown Barrie’s Gotta Luv Butter Tart Festivals! We’re joining 70+ vendors along Dunlop Street and at Meridian Place Downtown Barrie. Our booth will be located across from Beaver Rock Coffee. We’ll be selling our signature RVH Auxiliary butter tart flavoured coffee and scented candles, as well as our Community 50/50 tickets!

The Royal Victoria Cookbook, compiled by the Women’s Auxiliary and printed in 1900, will be on display as part of our archive exhibit, the earliest known publication of the butter tart recipe.
