2022 🥂

I quite honestly don’t even know where to begin as I think back on all that has happened in the past 12 months.

This year was probably one of the best but most intense years of both my business and personal life.

Some highlights ✨
- completely revamped my business with the help of my mentor and finally got to produce some INCREDIBLE weddings after years of Covid changes/postponements👩🏻‍💻

- sold our first home with for wayyy over asking 👏🏻👏🏻

- Produced weddings in Maui 🌴and Ireland ☘️ (in the same month 🫠)

- sent my first baby off to Kindergarten 🥹

- sent my second baby off to daycare 🥹

- Moved into our forever home and designed the s**t out of it with the INSANELY talented (pics to come 🤫)

- racked up some miles ✈️ and travelled to: Tulum🍹, Banff 🏔️, Hawaii 🌺, London 🇬🇧, Ireland 🍺, Scottsdale 🌵

I’m BEYOND blessed and so thankful for the friends, family, husband, kids, clients, and colleagues in my life — can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store!

Working with creative partners in different parts of the world is always exciting, especially when they’re as talented as the amazing group that worked on Alex and Cian’s big day in Clonakilty!

Can’t wait to go back someday soon 🤍

BRIDE GOALS ✨

Spending this week sorting through this years wedding albums and I am BLOWN away by the beautiful couples, the incredible florals, and the outstanding photo/video. I’m reminded of how amazing everyone was — I’m so lucky 💕

This wedding season was TOUGH (Covid rollovers were no joke 🙃 — I typically do 4-6 weddings a year and I had 15 in 6 months 😳)

But as always my couples were patient and our creative partners were second to none.

I’m spending this week updating my website (it’s been WAY too long) and I can’t wait to continue to share content with y’all 🤍🤍

Power outage? ⚡️More like Power Couple.

When you’re mulling around hiring a planner think to yourself — if there’s a tornado and a tree falls on my house and the power goes out when my hairstylist is doing my hair on an already tight day-of timeline… who will I call?

Does this seem far fetched? We’ll, and can tell you it’s not.

And… This is how their photos turned out after all of it too 👌🏻👌🏻

In my 8 years of business I’ve produced weddings through two tornados, one very long pandemic, and numerous other bizarre occurrences. I’d like to say I’ve seen it all but any good planner always has at least a few backup plans 😅

I always get super excited when a bride gives me free reign with colours — they can add so much depth and fun to the design!

Let’s talk Budget 💵💵💵

I believe in being transparent with my couples — weddings cost a lot of money.

As SOON as you do anything different than serving sandwiches made by your family for 10 people in the backyard — it becomes pricey (yes, I’m looking at you brides who think throwing a tent wedding in your parents backyard might save you $$$)

The couples I work with are spending multiple hundreds or thousands PER guest when it comes to their big day.

Just some of the costs that stay the same regardless of your guest count:
✔️Photography
✔️Cinematography
✔️Musicians
✔️DJ
✔️Officiant
✔️Venue fees

^^ so whether your having a wedding of 300 or 30, it still starts to add up!

My advice to couples is to figure out your SCARY number. A lot of people (most people) have no idea how much a wedding will cost and honestly it’s even tough for experienced planners to say without knowing a lot more about what you’re looking for.

But one thing I do know for sure is everyone has “a number” — does 100k scare you? How about 500k? A million? Even if people have unlimited resources, there is usually always a number that makes them say “well not THAT high”.

Figure out what yours is and let your planner do the rest— by NO means does that mean we’re going to book everything at the highest price just to meet your scary number, we’re actually going to try our best to keep it lower than that amount (it’s our job to help!!) but with that number we can set expectations from the start (no, you can’t have a wedding of 150 people with Kardashian florals for 30k— it is impossible)… BUT let’s find out what your must haves are and what you value most (food/drink/florals/photos/etc.) and make you a plan that works from there!!

Not a math major? Holla at your girl! (…Respectfully, I’m not either but I speak wedding budget pretty well 😅)

This is the busiest time of the year for wedding pros and even busier than usual as we get these COVID wedding babes married off!! 👰🏼

Got up early to WERK and then I’m heading out for a little day drinking with some of my favourite gal pals to *tequila train* for a bachelorette in Tulum in a few weeks!

I cannot wait for all of the travel I have planned for this year!! Catching up on two years out of the game is much needed ✈️🍹

Don’t concern yourself too much with the number or making it equal to your partners— I’ve seen just one and I’ve also seen 11+ 👯‍♀️

Another year wrapping up 🥂

It was a tough one for sure but also an amazing one.

My little company is growing in ways I only dreamed of when I started in 2015. I’m working with amazing couples, planning dream weddings, and living the life I hoped I would when I became an entrepreneur.

I’m so excited for the weddings to come, my little boys to keep making me laugh every day, moving into our new dream home, my 5 year wedding anniversary, and hopefully to a year full of travelling!!!
