Shree Sorathia Prajapati Gnati Mandal
As per the Vedic history of Prajapati, we originate from Lord Vishvakarma (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vishvakarman) the God of Architecture and Engineering. Therefore the Prajapati community in India has a long history of creation, from small clay pots to building large architectural marvels in the southeast Asia region. At one point in history, the working style and lifestyle changed due to regional differences in Ancient India. It is believed that when the city of Dhwarka was built by Lord Vishvakarma at that point in time a large group of Prajapati settled there to help their Lord in building the city. The country was called Sorath where we can trace our roots from during the age of the Pandavas of the Mahabharata during the conception of the Bhagvat-Gita in the approximately 5000+ years (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahabharata). Therefore Sorathia i.e. from the country of Sorath was added to the community of Prajapati who were settled there.
We are the Ontario Branch of the community here in Canada. We 2 annual get to gathers every year for the summer picnic and Diwali Dinner. Outside of that we connect new immigrants the local community and assist with the various charities that individuals volunteer for in local Ontario region.
