The Centre for Grief and Healing is launching its second Food as Community episode this March! Join us in person or virtually for a fantastic cooking demonstration by and our host ! Episode 2 has a little twist; in-Person attendees can choose between Kitchen & Lounge Access: General In-Person Admission (Lounge Access): This ticket provides access to the lounge area of Food as Community. Lounge access includes viewing the cooking demonstration, live entertainment, and tasting of Chef Kareema's Menu. The evening will include an open bar, and a diverse expert panel will elaborate on food as a community and how we can incorporate food into our daily healing routines. Panelists will be released closer to the event date.  Kitchen In-Person Admission (Cooking Class): This ticket provides exclusive access to our Food as Community, including a hands-on cooking experience alongside Chef Kareema. After the cooking class, participants will enjoy eating their cooked meal alongside live entertainment. The evening will include an open bar, and a diverse expert panel will elaborate on food as a community and how we can all incorporate food into our daily healing routines. My first live studio audience with Cityline and Tracy Moore

It's A LOT different with an audience.
There's definitely more energy and it's a lot of fun... I WON'T LIE though I was a little nervous because I haven't been "in front" of a live audience on the show before. Tracy always makes you feel "at home" and relaxed when your on air with her ❤️ THANK YOU GIRL!!!

I was at my heaviest on that cover (outside of being pregnant) 178lbs of body fat/weight. I've trimmed down to 167lbs the body fat has turned into muscle. It's not always about the "number" on the scale, it's also the inches and how YOU feel.

A lot has happened in the last 2 years, I've grown a lot (and I keep growing), I lost a lot of people and things and I've also gained a lot of new people and things.
I am always GRATEFUL because I know things could be worse 🙏🏽.

I pray that the Most High continues to give me strength, guidance, protection in all that I do (and want to do).

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! I have a few exciting announcements for this spring. •

I know everyone wants to stay healthy and safe with the quarantine that’s happening. With that being said,

From PLEASE READ!!

The team is small but mighty. The cause is hefty but worthy. For two weekends all involved gave up time to volunteer in our Meals To Go initiative. The JCA which is a hub for community kicked in space and identified a wide cross section of seniors and others in need. Persons responded to the flyer each week and the numbers grew. On an average we serve 100 meals each day of the weekend. We always serve a chicken or vegetarian option.

We just wrapped two weeks and are planning to continue for as long as it is needed.
Every participant is a volunteer including our chef team led by and including and Anthony Scott (TrafficMan). The drivers who take the greatest risk are folks we call upon at sometimes last minute and who do not hesitate to fill the gap. The team keeps updated via vibrant Whatsapp group.
We want to thank Jef Wyllz Fitz Gerald Orville Patrick Sir B, Clive (Crystal Clear Soundz) Janet (JCA volunteer), Sia (JCA volunteer), Owen, Dave and numerous others not on social media who help.

We are challenged by capacity and funds so feel free to reach out if you wish to assist. Touch base with leads like Elaine ET Thompson and Adaoma Patterson or myself for more info.

Be safe out there folks! Covid19 is no joke if you are not essential services don’t try to be ...the most essential thing you can do is help the rest of us keep safe.
This project is just one example of what can be done in these times but note that we can do small things that make impact everyday.

E.g. a small act of kindness like grocery shopping for your neighbour who is a senior or in the vulnerable population (you can do this online with major grocery stores), you can check in (call) on folks for whom isolation also means aloneness, clean surfaces before and behind you, stay in if you cold/flu symptoms, help persons in need navigate to resources that can assist them, sew some masks to standard for health care professionals etc etc.
Take care! Be safe! Stay home if you are not in essential services!
