Hello, Friends and Supporters,

We are honored and humbled to share that Derek has been nominated for the 2025 MEX Hall of Fame. This recognition reflects years of dedication to advocating for the DJ industry.

Derek had spent over 4 years as the Canadian Professional DJ Association National President, he has been the chairman of the board of Directors for the past 7 years and has been the London Regional team leader for over 10 years. He has been co-creator and co-host (over 50 calls) of the Canada Wide DJ Call, bringing DJ’s together across Canada to help grow the DJ Industry and during Covid brought together a Call to help bring DJ’s together for support and even extended this call to the other Canadian DJ Association. He was also part of team that lobbied for financial support for the Federal and provincial Governments for DJ’s who were the first ones to close and the last ones to re-open during this time.
He has not only participated in but also helped bring International Trainers to Canada to help improve the craft of DJing, MCing, Marketing and many other aspects of the industry. Derek was also a co-creator in the International DJ Alliance bringing together DJ associations from around the world to discuss what works and what doesn’t work in associations and try and help others in various regions.

Being inducted into the MEX Hall of Fame would be a milestone not just for Derek and for Schwartzentruber Music Services but for everyone who shares a passion for this industry.
