It’s Wednesday and I’m here with another Wedding Tip to help your photo gallery be all that you dream it to be! This week I’m talking about receptions. Don’t forget to share and save this if you or someone you know is in the planning process.

It’s time to relax and enjoy what you’ve worked so hard planning. So visit, eat good food and party!
🧁If you have the option, choose a venue that is well lit, the additional lighting will present creative opportunities to your photographer by not restricting them to flash photography the whole evening. Bonus points if it’s natural light.
🧁Choose a venue that is a bit bigger than the amount of guests you’ll be inviting. Having extra space will ensure your tables aren’t too cramped and this will allow your photographer freedom to move around to capture all of the candid moments from your evening. If things are too packed then we’ll have the same pathway to use to capture your evening and that will result in repetitive shots.
🧁It is so trendy right now to have tall center pieces. I was guilty of this at my own wedding. Let’s say no to this one for 2025. Anything with lots of height on your tables blocks the opportunity to capture your friends and family. Also, having tall decor on your head table really limits the angles that your photographer will be able to get of those special reactions during speeches.
🧁Have an MC that is instructed to keep things running on time. It’s nice to read the room but it’s also important to keep things rolling. Be sure to have a timeline at the podium and ask them to be mindful of it to keep your night flowing and avoid paying additional late fees to your venders.
🧁Last but certainly not least, just enjoy yourself. Weddings are busy and there is so much to keep track of. Let go of the control and let your loved ones take on the responsibility of keeping things organized so you can enjoy your big night.
Happy planning!
