It’s Wedding Tip Wednesdayyyyyy! 💍
This week I want to talk about the benefits of engagement photos and how to get the most out of the experience. If you or someone you know is celebrating a wedding this year and you find this helpful, be sure to save and share.

E N G A G E M E N T P H O T O S

🤍I’m going to start with the obvious and say that engagement photos are great for your save the dates/wedding invitations and of course are just a fantastic way to celebrate the milestone.

Now that I’ve got the obvious out of the way let’s get into some tips that might not be as obvious.

🤍Pick your wedding photographer first and then plan your engagement session with them. This will be a great ice breaker and help you feel more comfortable on the day of your wedding - especially if you’re not very comfortable in front of the camera.
Bonus, it will also help your photographer get a hands on experience with your chemistry as a couple which will help them deliver a more personal gallery.

🤍Personalize them!!! If there’s any photo shoot to personalize, it’s this one. Make it fun, make it romantic, make it YOU. This is a great excuse for a creative date and I promise your photographer will eat up any ideas you might have.

🤍Dress up for the occasion. If it’s your vibe don’t hesitate to get dressed to the nines! This news is BIG and it’s okay to go over the top.

🤍If you haven’t had professional photos together as a couple, engagement photos will give you a great test run before the big day! Getting photos done for the first time can be intimidating and your engagement session can ease those nerves so you are more familiar with the experience on your wedding day!

Happy Planning! 🥂

How cool is this?! I’m over here living my photographer dream and loving every second of it. ♥️

I appreciate all of you more than you know. Whether it’s allowing me to capture your memories or just following along my creative journey - it all makes a difference for my little business.

And, a huge thank you to for picking me to win in the photographer category for Prince Albert.

12 long but also very quick days ago we welcomed our Sweet Baby girl.
Introducing Mila. 🤍

Just a friendly reminder that I am on a quick Maternity Leave and won’t be taking anything new until June. I am so excited to dive into some uninterrupted family time and soak in as much of this phase of life as possible. I am still replying to all inquiries that come in but please be patient with replies as I’m not checking my inboxes daily. ♥️

For anyone wanting to book a spring/summer session - Ive chosen to prioritize weddings this year and will only be doing other photo shoots on Monday and Tuesday evenings and am currently half booked! If you’d like to inquire on a date please visit my website.

It’s Wednesdays and we know what that means! 🎉 Today I’m giving my opinion on how to get the most out of the formals with your partner on your wedding day.
If you or someone you know is celebrating a wedding this year and you find this helpful, be sure to save and share.

T H E F O R M A L S

🤍 On your wedding day you typically want photos with immediate family, your wedding party and your new forever partner. If your timeline allows for it, leave the formals with your partner for last. I say this for many reasons but here are a couple reasons why.
Reason one being lighting. These are the photos that you’re most likely to display so it just makes the most sense to have the best possible lighting for this portion of your gallery.
Reason two being organization. I promise it’s in everyone’s benefit to just do family photos where your ceremony is. Weddings are exciting and people are seeing family that they haven’t visited with in forever. People will get distracted and chances are it will delay your timeline waiting for family to be where they need to be. My suggestion is to do family photos followed by wedding party photos and then finish off with photos of you and your partner.

🤍Allow us to be alone. Having your wedding party hang back or be an audience can make you guys feel uncomfortable. Especially if you’re not a fan of PDA. Consider what would make both of you feel best and let’s plan for that!

🤍Personalize them. As your photographer I consult with you before your wedding and try my best to add the vibe that you’re after within posing and location (if you’d like me to choose) for the outcome that you’re wanting but if there’s a special location or item that we can incorporate to make your gallery scream you guys, let’s do it!

🤍Let loose. Let’s just say it - these photos are expensive. They’re also a once in a life time session that can’t be recreated. Let’s laugh, let’s be passionate and most importantly let’s be authentic!! I am never ever judging you, so let’s work together at getting lost in the magic of your day and capture the emotion of your love story.

Happy Planning! 🥂

It’s Wednesday and I’m here with another Wedding Tip to help your photo gallery be all that you dream it to be! This week I’m talking about receptions. Don’t forget to share and save this if you or someone you know is in the planning process.

It’s time to relax and enjoy what you’ve worked so hard planning. So visit, eat good food and party!

🧁If you have the option, choose a venue that is well lit, the additional lighting will present creative opportunities to your photographer by not restricting them to flash photography the whole evening. Bonus points if it’s natural light.

🧁Choose a venue that is a bit bigger than the amount of guests you’ll be inviting. Having extra space will ensure your tables aren’t too cramped and this will allow your photographer freedom to move around to capture all of the candid moments from your evening. If things are too packed then we’ll have the same pathway to use to capture your evening and that will result in repetitive shots.

🧁It is so trendy right now to have tall center pieces. I was guilty of this at my own wedding. Let’s say no to this one for 2025. Anything with lots of height on your tables blocks the opportunity to capture your friends and family. Also, having tall decor on your head table really limits the angles that your photographer will be able to get of those special reactions during speeches.

🧁Have an MC that is instructed to keep things running on time. It’s nice to read the room but it’s also important to keep things rolling. Be sure to have a timeline at the podium and ask them to be mindful of it to keep your night flowing and avoid paying additional late fees to your venders.

🧁Last but certainly not least, just enjoy yourself. Weddings are busy and there is so much to keep track of. Let go of the control and let your loved ones take on the responsibility of keeping things organized so you can enjoy your big night.

Happy planning!

Wake up, breathe, do a happy dance and HYDRATE.

💗Consider your space. If you’re getting photos done while getting ready choosing a space that has lots of natural light and has minimal clutter is best.

💗 Brides, I highly suggest getting your hair and makeup done first or at the very least half way through your group. Don’t be last. I see the logic in having everything as fresh as possible but I promise, this is often where the biggest stressors begin. Delays happen and if you’re late getting ready then you’re late to your ceremony and there’s potential for a domino effect. Be fully glammed by the time your photographer shows up! We’ll pop you back into the chair for some touch ups and your gallery will still feel complete.

💗Have a box prepared of all of your sentimental items. We’ll use this for your detail shots and it’s just so much easier having it ready than running around finding your goodies when your photographer arrives. Some examples of things to include in your box may be, your rings, jewelry(sentimental family jewelry), perfume/cologne, veil, shoes, invitation, dried flowers or any other little gifts from your time together as a couple.

💗Include your loved ones. I know tradition says mom does up the brides dress and the grooms mom puts on the boutonniere. I’m not suggesting that you need to follow tradition but I am suggesting to give special roles. These moments set aside to honor your people will be cherished and are often some of the most memorable moments.
With that being said, do not allow them to hold up the show. Communicate their roles to them and make sure they’re aware of the time it is happening at.

💗If you choose to do first looks privacy is key! Especially with the male figures in your life. I can’t tell you how many times bridesmaids have spoiled the experience. Allow those special men the space to be vulnerable, it will mean so much more to you when they are and everyone can relive the magic through the photos.

Wedding Tip Wednesday!

Okay you guys, I’ve been trying to start this series for like 9 months. 🫣 What better time to kick start it than in January of a new year?! So, 2025/26 couples this is for you! Feel free to share or save these tips to use on your big day and check back every Wednesday for new tips and tricks.

Hey outdoor couples! Here are a couple of things to consider while deciding on the location, placement and venders of your outdoor ceremony.

💍 Trees are best! Any sort of shade will be a great asset for your ceremony site. Ceremonies are typically done in the afternoons and the sun can be harsh. With that being said an experienced photographer can work with it if need be so if your plans are to get married in an open field, make sure your photographer can manage that.

💍Consider all angles not just the backdrop in which you’ll be standing - especially the back of your ceremony site. Many people choose to have the parking lot at the back of their outdoor ceremony site thinking it will be out of the way when in all reality you have now created an eye sore for the backdrop of the bride walking down the aisle. If you need to choose one side for any parking lots/eye sores that can’t be avoided, consider putting up a cute backdrop like vintage doors or something that matches your theme!

💍Be sure your officiant doesn’t steal the show!! We have the option now to get married by friends and family and that is AMAZING. However, it has increased the chances of your officiant wearing bright colors that takes the attention away from the bride and groom in their photos. Most hired professionals know to wear neutral colors but if you’re getting married by a loved one it couldn’t hurt to check in on their wardrobe and be sure they’re planning on wearing neutrals.

💍Is your DJ attending your ceremony? Having your DJ take care of the sound for you can be such a weight lifted off of your shoulders however, many DJ’s show up with equipment that can’t easily be hid. Choose one who offers a wireless system! If you’re getting married in the Prince Albert area .music has a very compact system and does a great job!
