We express our gratitude for a vibrant 2023 - a remarkable year brimming with opportunities to unite people across Canada and beyond.
From prestigious Award Galas to impactful National Conferences, from influential Corporate Leadership Summits to lively Community Festivals (and much more!), we played a role in orchestrating events spanning from Edinburgh, Scotland, to our hometown of Langley, BC. Achieving a team record, we visited 5 provinces in a single year and, quite candidly, spent more time in airports than we'd care to admit. 😉
2023 was undeniably a dynamic year that kept us on our toes, reaffirming our passion for this industry.
As we wind down for the holiday season, we extend heartfelt thanks to our incredible clients for entrusting us with a role in your events. Your unwavering support is deeply appreciated, and we eagerly anticipate bringing your events to life in 2024.

We first heard BrassTactics perform as the engaging opening entertainment at GO WEST ‘23 back in January. Right away we knew we wanted to share that experience with our conference attendees!
Fast forward to today, where we just kicked off a corporate conference in Penticton featuring this talented group. The high energy and memorable opening has set the stage perfectly for the next few days and our attendees are ready to connect, learn, network, and have some fun!

About last week!
One of the things we enjoy the most is exploring new destinations for conferences and events. We’ve hosted many events across this beautiful country that we call home, but every so often we are reminded that Canada is full of hidden gems, authentic experiences, and fabulous hospitality.
Over the week, strangers became friends as we toured Prince Edward Island, connected with industry suppliers, and ate our weight in fresh seafood. We’ve gained some great insight and ideas for our clients that are looking for a unique and beautiful East Coast Canadian destination.
Thank you to our host, Meetings & Conventions Prince Edward Island, for showing us all the possibilities and introducing us to your many wonderful partners.

2022 was a year where we packed our bags and got back on the road! ✈️ 🚘 ⛴ 🧳
After a couple years of virtual events, we were stoked to dust off our suitcases and put on a few miles. We literally travelled coast to coast this year, for events and site visits from Victoria to Halifax. We were even onsite for a conference in Winnipeg – a first for our team – and returned to other areas of Vancouver Island and Whistler where we are fortunate to have planned many events in the past.
2023 will be another full year of travel and we already are booked to visit Banff, Whistler, Edmonton, Halifax, Penticton, Toronto, Dublin and Edinburgh.
We can’t wait to see where else 2023 takes our team.
We wrapped up our final summer event last weekend and wow was it ever a great day! Our team was blown away by attendance. Thanks Discover Downtown Langley for choosing us as your event partner. We love working with all of you right in our own backyard.

We recently had our team running the best of both worlds, with Sherryl onsite at the Fairmont Waterfront executing an in-person award show dinner while Chris & Laura were in the Rare Affairs Office Studio executing a virtual event.
While in-person events are back in a big way, we are still seeing some events like AGMs and corporate seminars being held virtually.

There is nothing like the adrenaline rush the moment an event goes live. We had a fantastic time onsite last week executing this virtual corporate award show for an amazing client.
Shout out to MS Productions who provided AV services, including this mobile studio with 20’ green screen, which enabled us to broadcast right from the client’s head office.

Congratulations to everyone who was involved in this project - truly a dream team that we are grateful to be a part of.
We are beyond grateful to share that we have been kept quite busy this year – yes, you read that right - an Event Management company that was busy during a pandemic!
We planned and executed a combination of online and in-person events throughout the year, and as our industry slowly reopened in late 2021, we had our busiest fall season ever (executing 20+ events & projects in just 10 weeks throughout the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and the Interior).
Rare Affairs owners Sherryl & Chris Parsons were highlighted on KPU’s “40 Alumni To Watch” list, and also both celebrated their 40th birthdays!
We wrapped up the year by planning a fundraiser (in just 10 days) to support the local dairy farmers impacted by devastating floods in BC. This event brought local business owners and members of the community together for a heartfelt gathering, and $9,000 was raised by some truly awesome humans. It was the perfect event to top off 2021.
To everyone who was a part of our year – thank you. We couldn’t do what we love without each and every one of you.

Raise Them Up!!! 🙌🙌🙌
Together we’ve raised $9,000 for the BC Dairy Association!
These funds will provide urgently needed services and supplies for dairy farms and their families who have been impacted by the recent catastrophic flooding.
This event went from an idea to a live fundraiser in just 10 days. ❤️
This wouldn’t be possible without incredible community partners like Farm Country Brewing, Exit 58, Ryan McAllister, Mitchell Styba Productions & Jordain Culpepper, as well as every single person and business who donated a silent auction or raffle item, who purchased a ticket, who donated cash, who bought a raffle ticket or silent auction item and who helped us spread the word about this event.
To every single person who was a part of Raise Them Up – thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You have made a difference.

We are overwhelmed by how our community showed up to support BC dairy farms and their families who have been impacted by the catastrophic events that have unfolded over the past few weeks.
We already know we’ve SMASHED our initial fundraising goal, and we will announce the grand total soon. We are absolutely over the moon and grateful to every person who stepped up to be a part of this event.
This was a success because of you and the care you share for our community.

We can't believe that 10 days ago this fundraiser was an idea that popped up in a conversation and now here we are!
A SOLD OUT brewery (all tables are sold but we can squeeze a few more in as general admissions - pre-purchase necessary!). Awesome live music performances by Exit 58 and Ryan McAllister (who will sound great thanks to donated AV services from MS Productions) over $4,000 in silent auction items available, close to $1,000 in raffle prizes, and we couldn't ask for a better place to host - Farm Country Brewing.
To everyone who has already supported this event by donating, buying a ticket or partnering with us to make it happen - THANK YOU!
We are so excited and looking forward to welcoming you all tonight.
