Each year I pay tribute to my Great Uncle - Private Fred Braybrook - Devils Brigade - Regiment 1 - Company 3 - Service Number 27190
Died in World War II - May 23, 1944 on Anzio Beach Italy, he rests at the Anzio Beach head cemetery in Italy. Attached is a photo of him, a copy of his obituary in the newspaper from 1944 and a photo of my Uncle Kelly Chalmers visiting his gravesite.

Recently The Okotoks & District Chamber of Commerce was awarded a Federal Government Grant via the Alberta Chamber of Commerce, specifically to be used for a proposed Shop Local Project. In partnership with the Town of Okotoks, we have been working hard on the all the components of the approved project, which aims to support local businesses through increasing awareness, improving competitiveness with the City of Calgary, encouraging increased tourism, and cultivating the sustainability of our local business community. Phase 1 of the “MORE To Okotoks” project was rolled out during Small Business Week, and we hope you are all enjoying the new OKOTOKS sign that was installed by Miles Display and Design Ltd at the Town of Okotoks landmark site at 34 McRae Street.

We are optimistic that our approved “MORE to” Shop Local Project can generate some buzz and desire to take in our ‘Cool Little Town’ and find out that there truly is more to Okotoks.
