Mainline Music Festival is seeking a Scholarship & Awards Coordinator for our upcoming performing arts competition at the Wolseley Town Hall/Opera House in April 2025.
Our ideal volunteer is a past music festival participant or parent - you understand the workings of music festival, but because you don't have students participating, you can act as an impartial representative. All awards are chosen by the Adjudicator - you just make sure the paperwork is correct! We already have an awards guideline in place.
This is a wonderful opportunity to support young musical and dramatic artists in our local area.

Mainline Music Festival is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator for our upcoming performing arts competition at the Wolseley Town Hall/Opera House in April 2025.
You don’t need to be a musician to help! You're a person who knows "everyone" and can organize people to help out. Our volunteer jobs for the week of music festival are quite easy, we're mostly looking for volunteers to work the silver collection at the door, and set up/put away tables and chairs.
This is a wonderful opportunity to support young musical and dramatic artists in our local area.

Our friends in Outlook have some great suggestions for anyone interested in speech arts at the 2025 Festival!

Entering a Speech Arts piece in the festival may seem intimidating, but it is actually quite easy!

-Having a voice teacher to enter a speech arts selection is not a necessity. It can be as simple as choosing a short poem or children's book that is a favorite of your child. Pictured below are just a few resources that have been used by Outlook and District students and teachers for speech and choral entries in the festival.

-Once you've chosen a piece, it's time to start memorizing and practicing. Chances are good if you have chosen a poem or story your child returns to again and again, memorizing it will be easy!

-There are several speech arts categories to enter, from 19th century poetry, Saskatchewan poetry, Sacred reading and more. Last year's festival saw a group of adults take to the stage with original written works, Prose and Sacred reading. Scholarships are available to children who enter at least 2 speech arts pieces in the Festival!
