A little boutonniere tip. Order an extra boutonniere for the groom so that he can have a backup and change it to keep it looking fresh in photos.
When you might want to consider pinning a fresh boutonniere on:
✨ If you're going out for photos in the heat and hot sun before your ceremony, you'd want to change to a new one before you walk down the aisle
✨ If you're having your cocktail hour before your ceremony, chances are, many guests will want a big hug from you. Your boutonniere will be pretty beat up from all the love! Pin a new one on you before you walk down the aisle
✨ If you're having a lot of cultural festivities before the ceremony, you can have a fresh one when you say I do
✨ If the ceremony is early on in the day and you have a lot of things lined up afterwards, switch your boutonniere before you make the grand entrance to your evening reception
✨ If you are changing into your traditional cultural outfits and have different color clothes, you might want to order 2 different color boutonnieres to match each outfit

I refuse to put hydrangeas in your bridal bouquet. Yup, sorry! As pretty as they are, they won't last you even until you walk out the house/hotel.
Hydrangeas need to always be well-hydrated. When they wilt, they wilt. Unlike most flowers, they are very obvious when they wilt, you can't get away with them looking dead within a couple of hours.
In the past, some brides insisted on using hydrangeas in their bouquets because they are beautiful, they're fluffy, they take up a lot of volume, so therefore, relatively inexpensive. But now, if you ask me to incorporate into your bouquets, I will refuse. I've seen photos from past weddings where hydrangeas were used in bouquets, I was horrified 😱
If you *REALLY* insist on using hydrangeas in your bouquets, there are some florists who will be willing to incorporate them. Just be warned!! ⚠️ Here are some tips if you absolutely want hydrangeas in your bouquets:
✨ Prepare vases with water (if your florist doesn't) for your bouquets to sit until you need to use them for photos or ceremony
✨ Hydrangeas drink water best from their petals, better than from their stems
✨ Prepare a mini spray bottle for your bridesmaid to keep with her so that you can give the hydrangeas a little spray throughout the day
✨ Keep the bouquets out of the sun as much as possible on your wedding day, plan your photo sessions accordingly
✨ Prepare vases with water as well for your wedding reception so your bouquets stay fresh throughout the evening
✨ If your hydrangeas do wilt, put a lot of water on the petals and wait, they should become nice and fluffy again!
If you'd like to work with me on the best flowers to use in your bouquets, I'd love to help! Hit me up in the DM's and let's chat.
Happy planning!

Time for another THIS or THAT! Classic arch install or be a bit different and have a ground installation that you don't see often?
Regardless which one you prefer, they can both be transferred to your sweetheart table after the ceremony!

Candle myth: Just add more candles, they’re cheap.
Reality: Candles are not cheap. Things to think about…
✨ Candles might be inexpensive when you DIY them because you’re not paying for the vendor’s labour
✨ Cheap votive candles don’t burn long enough or burn at all
✨ Candle wax is a pain to clean out of holders (swipe to see next video)
Candle tips:
✨ Make sure your venue allows real candles
✨ Make sure the candles are in holders and the flame of your candles are inside the holders for safety purposes
✨ Floating candles take longer to setup (water) but are easier to clean than pillar candles
✨ If you really want pillar candles, look for some used ones past brides are selling. Make sure the holders are clean though if they’re included
✨ Be sure to check how many hours your bulk votive candles burn for. 3 to 4 hours is not enough. We do 8 to 10 hours
Happy planning!

Wondering when you should book a florist for your wedding? 💐
Usually, our couples book anywhere from 3 months to 18 months out. Of course, given that we’re still available 3 months prior to your wedding day AND given the fact that there’s a huge backlog of weddings due to the pandemic, our calendar is filling up fast for next wedding season. So the real answer is “A.S.A.P.!”
This also goes for all the other vendors you need to hire for your wedding day. Let’s not procrastinate and get your bookings done!
Here’s a short list of vendors in case you might be wondering:
✨ Venue / church
✨ Caterer
✨ Photographer/photo booth
✨ Videographer
✨ DJ / entertainment
✨ Floral designer
✨ Rentals
✨ Officiant
✨ Wedding attire
✨ Hair stylist
✨ Makeup artist
✨ Baker / sweet table
✨ Invitations / wedding day stationery
✨ Limo / transportation
Need help with any of these vendor recommendations and bookings? My team and I not only can make your venue beautiful with florals but we can also help you with your full wedding planning needs. Reach out in the DM’s and let’s chat!

I thought it'd be really fun to do a series of "THIS or THAT"! So here's the first one! Would love to know if you like your wedding ceremony aisle to have chair/pew markers or ground installation to line your aisle?
Whichever you prefer, be sure to plan where/how to use them after your ceremony, whether it's for cocktail hour or for your reception.
Now which style would you go for? And... GO!
Happy planning!

How long will my bouquet last?
Brides often tell me their bouquets last a week after their wedding and I love hearing that! We get our flowers fresh from our supplier a couple of days before your wedding to clean them and hydrate them ready for designing.
Your bouquets will be out of water for the entire wedding day so it is important for us to hydrate well before that.
What can you do to help your flowers last longer after your wedding day? Here are 5 tips:
✨ On the night of your wedding, give your bouquet stems a little trim once you get back home or the hotel
✨ Prepare a clean vase with fresh cold tap water to put your bouquet in
✨ Keep your bouquet in a cooler and less bright location
✨ Every 1 or 2 days, change the water
✨ If you can (sometimes the stems are short), give them a little trim again before you put them in fresh water
Note that some variety of flowers will have already become soft after a day out of the water, but there will always be some hearty flowers like roses, carnations and chrysanthemums, which will still be good after a day, so all you have to do is rehydrate them!
Love these tips? Follow for more!

ABOUT CARYN LIM
Lead Designer & Planner
“I am a wedding & event designer with more than 14 years of experience. I have always loved making handmade greeting cards for my family & friends because I loved how personalized they were. One day, a friend asked me to decorate his wedding! Guess what my response was? ‘Are you sure?!’ That same year, I decorated 3 weddings for my friends. I guess they saw something in me before I even realized! After that, I’ve gone on to helping family and friends with their personal celebrations, coordinated events such as conferences, summer camps and fundraisers for non-profit organizations. The combination of my love for business, art, design, creativity, details, all things personalized and excellent customer service is what’s behind my company.
As a designer, my goal is to help my busy clients, brides, grooms, businesses and companies to stop worrying about how the theme of their weddings & events will all come together in the end. You can enjoy the personalized service with one designer for all of your invitation, decoration, rental and floral needs. There’s no need to deal with multiple vendors for the design aspect of your big day. You can be assured that the theme and style of your events will flow effortlessly from the beginning to the end.”
