Join ME on Wednesday April 24th for a crafty paint night workshop from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm. I will teach you step by step to creating your very own masterpiece. A 16x20 canvas is supplied for you as well as all the supplies you need to create your work of art. Included in your workshop is any of the hot beverages on the menu except the Nitro brew & smoothies, and your choice of any one donut or pastry. The Workshop will be held at The Manic Makers candy & coffee shop in Fort Erie. They offer hot or cold specialty coffees, teas and some amazing treats to snack on. In Honor of Ramadan, that started Sunday night, this is a reminder to book your celebrations with authentic mehndi! Also known as henna 😉 for those of you who don't know: Henna traditions for the end of Ramadan "Id al-Fitr" copyright Catherine Cartwright-Jones 2003 Kent State University Henna by Catherine Cartwright-Jones Arabic calligraphy: "a moment of joy" "Ramadan is a month when Muslims pray, fast, go without water, abstain from fleshly and social pleasures, reflect, and concentrate on their spiritual life. This fast is observed for 4 weeks from crescent moon, to crescent moon. This period is similar to the Christian tradition of Lent, preceding Easter. A person may atone for sins by observing the Ramadan fast, as Christians absolve their sins by keeping the Lenten fast. All Muslims who can are required to maintain this fast during daylight hours. Children, pregnant women, sick people, and travelers are not required to fast. At dusk, people may eat and drink again. During this season, in traditional village life, women laid aside their traditional cosmetics such as henna, kohl and perfume as part of their abstinence. At the end of Ramadan, at the sighting of the new crescent moon, Muslims return to the joys of physical life: food, drink, and sexuality, appreciating the gifts of life more for the month's privation. Henna is a symbol of, and part of, the earthly delight in being alive. The end of Ramadan is celebrated with gifts, family parties, street carnivals, new clothing … and henna! This celebration was called “The Little Feast”, or the “Id al-Fitr” comparing it to “The Great Feast” of “Id al-Adha” at the end of Hajj. Village celebrations often went on for 7 days, and this was a favorite time to schedule marriages. In Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, all the countries across North Africa to South Asia, Muslim people look forward to Id celebrations, as Christians look forward to Easter. Hi! And welcome to SarahBeara Art Parties!

My name is Sarah,I am a 23 year old artist from Ontario, Canada. My love of art came from my childhood as well as my nickname (SarahBeara), since then I have graduated the Visual and Creative Arts program at Sheridan College at the top of my class.

I have worked closely with families and kids for the last 3 years, but when I moved back to the Niagara Region I found it lacking from creative family friendly services. There's nothing more important to me than the interaction of art in families.​
