Hi everyone! Just a quick update to say that wreath quantities will be limited on Saturday at . I'll be bringing around 15 wreaths for in-person shopping, a smaller quantity than I would have liked to offer, but enough that many people will be able to bring home a Yukon hand-crafted wreath on Saturday. Keep reading if you care to know why 😊

If you haven't been obsessively checking road conditions this week like I have, you might not have noticed that the road to Skagway has been closed due to avalanche risk all week. Now, normally, that wouldn't affect me, but my last shipment of tulip bulbs has been waiting at the Skagway post office all week! The road has just been re-opened, so instead of spending today working on wreaths, I'm going to be heading down to the coast to bring those last 5,000 bulbs back home!

Having the uncertainty of whether I'd be able to make the trip to collect these bulbs each day this week has really cramped my wreath productivity. These wreath takes hours of prep work from harvesting greenery, preparing the decorative bits, and then even the assembly takes at least an hour per wreath (and often more) trimming all the greenery to just the right length, removing scraggly, yellowing or unhappy bits of pine & spruce, and then hand tying everything together securely, sprig by sprig. Even when I can tune out the rest of the world and get into a groove with production, there's only so many my two hands can make in a day. And with the stress & uncertainty of when I could make the trip to Skagway, I haven't been able to have much time in that productive flow state.

Hopefully lots of you can snag a wreath you love on Saturday! But if not, I'll be making more over the weekend and into next week!

Thanks for your understanding!

Wreath pop-up sale at this Saturday (December 7th).

Style 1/4: LOG CABIN πŸͺ΅πŸͺ“ ($75+GST)

Measuring approximately 28 inches across, the log cabin wreath is full of locally foraged spruce & pine greenery, sprinkled with bundles of miniature firewood (willow & poplar), and topped off with a burlap or velvet bow. If you want your wreath to look like it strolled out of the woods and parked itself on your door, this one is for you!

For this design, I was inspired by makers who adorn their wreaths with bundles of cinnamon sticks, but I wanted to find a more environmentally friendly and low-waste option to achieve a similar look. I figured I could use small lengths of red willow stems to mimic the look of cinnamon, but then as I got to working on things, I happily realized the bundles of willow & poplar shoots look like little piles of firewood. And just like that, the 'Log Cabin' wreath was born!

If you're a lover of all-things quintessential Yukon, this might just be the perfect wreath for you! I'll have an assortment of these for sale at this Saturday (December 7th) from 12-5:30 pm

HOLIDAY WREATH SALE! Saturday, December 7th at

Alrighty folks. Tulip logistics occupied a bit more of my time in late November than I anticipated, so I'm a tad behind my ideal wreath schedule. But, I'm all set up to start crafting up wreaths this week! I've shopped for supplies, practiced my bow making skills, settled on wreath designs, foraged for all the greenery & willow, consulted my dried flower stash (from crops I grew this summer), and have sliced & dried SO many oranges.

I'll be making up as many wreaths as I can this week, and they'll all be available at on Saturday, December 7th from noon to 5:30!

I'll share more about designs, sizes & pricing throughout the week so that you can have your favorite picked out before you even arrive! πŸŽ„

I am so excited to announce the Yukon Tulip Club! For as long as I've been running this flower farming biz, I've been longing to offer a CSA (community supported agriculture) style subscription service. Now that I have several years of winter tulip experience under my belt, I feel prepared to launch this offering!

What exactly is the Yukon Tulip Club you ask? Well, only the best antidote to the winter blues! As a member of the Yukon Tulip Club you'll be recieving a premium bouquet of our freshest flowers each week. You'll be able to choose from five or six week subscription lengths, and they'll be kicking off first thing in 2025! If our crop projections are accurate, your first bouquet will be ready the week of January 6th, 2025. If you're not familiar with our winter tulips, these aren't your everyday, grocery store tulips (no shade to them, we just want to make sure you're not getting us confused with those teeny, often very sad & droopy flowers). We select specialty varieties that you won't see anywhere else, and we only buy premium sized bulbs that produce big, beefy, beautiful tulips. And we grow them sustainably right here in Whitehorse, Yukon. Which means you're getting farm-fresh flowers in the dead of winter - it's kinda like magic! If you're a flower lover who dreams of filling their home with earth friendly flowers, we're a match made in heaven! You'll be getting fresh, sustainably & locally grown flowers, hand wrapped in recyclable paper.

Now some important details for buyers! Members of the Yukon Tulip Club must be able to pick up their bouquet each week on a dedicated pickup day (Tuesdays from 12-2pm or Fridays from 3:00-5:30pm) from from early January to mid February. If you have to miss a week for some reason, we suggest you gift that week's bouquet to someone you like a whole lot that can pick it up in your place.

I'll be launching 50 of these super special memberships for sale via my website on Thursday, November 28th. If you want a Yukon Tulip Club membership waiting for you under the Christmas tree- start dropping hints now!

August 22nd Fireweed Market:

I'll be bringing lots of flowers to the this week, including the first blooms of my fall lily crop! It looks like it might be a wet & chilly market day, so make sure you bring your rain boots and a cozy sweater. I'll have jars bursting with sweet peas, mason jar arrangements stuffed with apple-scented Bells of Ireland, lots of colorful mixed bouquets featuring the first of the lilies (mildly scented for those of you sensitive to fragrances), straight bunches of red&yellow marigolds, and lots of bunches of feverfew - plucked directly from a cottage-core Pinterest board!

Make sure you stock up on all the fresh, locally grown goodies while you still can, waking up to a frost this morning was a good reminder that we're approaching the tail end of our short growing season here in the Yukon!

This will also be my last August market of the year, I'll be taking next week off to travel abroad for a family member's wedding, so no market booth on August 29th. If the weather stays favorable while I'm away, I might be back with fresh flowers for market dates in September. πŸ’

Little sneak peek of what's heading to market tomorrow! Come shop all things local at the on Thursday, August 15th from 3-7pm.

It looks like the sun will be shining for us tomorrow, but given all the rain over the last two day, the grass might still be a little soggy!

Also, I'll be testing out a new setup for my market booth tomorrow - any feedback on how it feels to browse the new setup will be greatly appreciated! 😊

Missed the this week?? You've still got a chance to nab some Yukon-grown flowers for the weekend. Eight bunches of baby's breath (aka a delicate flower cloud for your home) and eight Icelandic Poppy bouquets will be available at on Friday July 26th!

All grown from seed, tended as seedlings, harvested, conditioned, wrapper, and transported by yours truly!

P.S. these Icelandic poppies are truly a 'trust the process' flower, what looks like unimpressive little green pods in the bundle will transform into big, blousy, papery beauties in the vase!
