Had to do this with a wedding Licence once. Asked the groom where it was, his best man replies "it is in the cooler".
It was in the bottom of the cooler in 3 inches of water.
🤦🤦
Needless to say we signed about 30 minutes after the ceremony was done.
I'm guessing it mailed OK the next day. Never heard from the Government on its condition.

Out to for a ceremony late this afternoon.
I believe the temp was pushing the 30c when things got started.
No one seemed to mind, we still had a few laughs.

Was out to Leonidas Chocolates Cafè yesterday to celebrate w/Lauren and Warren. They had a small gathering of friends and family from South Africa.
A great way to end a ceremony packed year.

Our day was perfect in every way. Jim was amazing. He made the whole process so easy. He had our guests laughing and involved our daughter in our ceremony. I cannot recommend him enough October 2023.

Yesterday was my 37th ceremony this year. Just a few shy of my "in one year" record. I received a call early last week when the couple found out their "friend" was not Licensed in Ontario to sign their Licence. He is a fellow "Universal Life Church" brother, but they are a California based group and are not recognized by the Government of Ontario.
This ceremony was a Medieval / Renaissance themed event with a band playing mostly period type music. Most of their attendees were dressed proper for the occasion including their parents and Wedding party. Yes, me as well. I was in a Black hooded robe.
Knowing that the two of them were big D&D players I had a extra task for them. Prior to signing I challenged them with a insight check with Advantage. They roll a multi side die and take the high take the higher number of two rolls it what is called a Persuasion, I then countered with insight check. They both passed and were allowed to sign the Licence. The Bride did roll a 1 on her first roll!

If you are NOT a D&D player, you have a friend who is and they can explain it a lot better than I.

Before a Ceremony I always make a point of speaking with the Photographer so they know how the ceremony is going to go and when to expect the big kiss. I let them know I will do my best to not photo bomb that shot.
On Saturday I went over to introduce myself to the Photographer. She said that she thinks we have worked together before. To which I replied, “then you know the one rule I have?”
“what’s the one rule?” she asked.
“you be where ever it is you need to be for the picture you want, just don’t push me out of the way”.
Her reply was “Yup, we have worked together before.”

When a couple are doing some "repeat after me" vows I have the groom go first. When he is done I will sometimes turn to the bride and say "ok, if you would repeat all that back to him".
99% of the time they look at me like I am crazy, or say "I am going to need some help with that".
Well today for what may have been the first time ever, the bride said "sure" then looked at her man and said "ditto".
Perfect, finally a bride took the bait and ran with it. My reply was "good enough for me, who has the rings?"
