“Cruisin’ the Streets” The extended version of the song includes a lengthy dialogue taking place at night in what is clearly implied to be Folsom Street in San Francisco. The dialogue consists of gay men cruising each other, discussing their s*xual encounters and conversing with a female pr******te. At one point, a police car stops and three policemen step out and confront two men who are engaging in s*xual activity as a female pr******te looks on. One of the officers asks the others what should be done, and the third officer states that he knows “just what to do to ’em” and from the subsequent noises it is implied that the officers are having s*x with the two men, and the pr******te. “Cruisin’ the Streets” was a snapshot of San Francisco’s South of Market District at the time.

It's been 50 years since War’s album “The World is a Ghetto” was released. The album skyrocketed to the top of the charts and came at a time when the music industry was still largely segregated.

War’s music spread messages of inclusion and activism across generations and has had a profound influence on America's culture today, with hits like “Low Rider” and “Why Can't We Be Friends?”

ABC News’ Linsey Davis sat down with War frontman Lonnie Jordan to discuss the band's legacy and how music can create change

Rock Musician John Miles has passed away the 5th December 2021, Age of 72, and "Music" was his last Love... 🙏

Born John Errington in April 1949, Newcastle upon Tyne, North-east England, Miles's first musical venture was the Influences, which also launched the careers of Roxy Music drummer Paul Thompson and guitarist Vic Malcolm, of the band Geordie.

After they split up, he moved to London and landed a deal with Decca Records, scoring his first top 20 hit with the melodic rock track “Highfly” in 1975.

Music was released a year later. As well as making the UK top five, it achieved moderate success in the US, paving the way for a support slot with Elton John!

He wrote the track in just half an hour, while killing time in Leeds between concerts. It's a relatively simple song, consisting of eight repeated lines extolling his love of Music, but the rich, elaborate orchestration made it a pop landmark to rival MacArthur Park and Bohemian Rhapsody!

The song was produced by Prog. Rock legend Alan Parsons!

Miles later provided guest vocals on several Alan Parsons Project albums, including Pyramid, Stereotomy and Gaudi.

"He will live on forever in our hearts and with the wonderful musical legacy he has left behind. You were our first love and will be our last."

The message echoed the words of Miles's biggest hit: "Music was my first love / And it will be my last / Music of the future / And music of the past."

Miles never matched its commercial peak again, but he enjoyed a long and varied career, releasing 10 albums between 1976 and 1999.

May You Rest in Heaven, John Miles, Thank You for "Music" and for your Music ❤ https://youtu.be/lAsvjVx-Mg4
