The International Bluegrass Music Association is excited to announce this year's recipient of the IBMA International Band Performance Grant – Johnny & The Yooahoos from Germany. The band was selected through a competitive process and will be featured as a part of this year’s IBMA World of Bluegrass® (September 24-28, 2024 in Raleigh, NC).

Johnny & the Yooahoos is a four-piece band formed in 2017 and based in the Munich area. Their high-energy "retro-bluegrass" sound mixes in other roots musical styles, along with influences from their native country.

The group has been steadily rising in the European bluegrass scene over the last few years, having played notable festivals including the 2022 and 2023 editions of the Bluegrass in La Roche Festival in France, the 2022 Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival in The Netherlands, and the 2022 Westport Folk & Bluegrass Festival in Ireland.

Johnny & the Yooahoos will be one of many amazing artists and performances you can see at IBMA World of Bluegrass®. Don't miss out on the most important week in bluegrass! 2024 IBMA World of Bluegrass® tickets will go on sale for IBMA members May 8. Ticket sales for the general public will follow on May 15.
