“I got pregnant nine years ago while dating my current husband and then the issue of marriage came up.

I wasn’t working then. He told my family and I that he doesn’t want a court marriage for no reason.

My parents tried talking to him, I cried and begged him severally to legalize his marriage with me but he stood his grounds not to wed me in a court.

I involved his family members to help me beg him but they said, he’s old enough to make his decisions.

He even refused to do a white wedding either because my church requested for a court certificate, so we ended up doing only traditional marriage.

I later got tired and gave up on the matter. I was hurt and broken but I resolved to marry him like that just to save myself and my family the shame of having a baby outside wedlock.

My dad was angry and disappointed in him but he didn’t care and because of that my dad vowed to see me a successful and independent woman with or without him.

After I gave birth to my baby, my dad helped me secure a job with a
multinational company and things started to turn around for me.

I could now take care of myself and secure a future.

Though I married my husband but I never forgave him from my heart and it made me not to do anything in my husband’s name.

We currently have three kids together but all my properties are in the name of my children. I never used him as my next of kin either.

Just last month my company decided to transfer me to a branch in Texas and the company is willing to pay for my entire family to relocate with me.

My husband’s business is not doing too well and he’s willing to relocate also but we have no legal certificate to show that we are married.

Now he wants us to go to the court to legalize our marriage and I have said “No”

My dad has threatened to disown me if I ever go with him to court.

He’s been tagging me everywhere as a bad wife who is not loyal to her husband, spoiling my family also.

His family members have been calling me trying to persuade me but I told them I’m old enough to make my decisions also and I have stood my ground just like he did to me nine years ago.”

SANITARY PAD RELATIONSHIP :

One of the dangerous relationships many single guys and ladies are into today is what I called ' SANITARY PAD RELATIONSHIP'

I will talk about seven (7) features of this relationship. Examine your present relationship to know whether you are in a 'Sanitary Pad Relationship' There are marriages too that are 'Sanitary Pad marriages'. Let's consider the features of this kind of relationship:

1. ONLY NEEDED DURING BLEEDING DAYS: You will know you are in a 'sanitary pad relationship' when your partner only value your presence when he/she is in need. Some are in a relationship just because they need someone to help them come out of their emotional pain, financial debt, etc. As soon as they feel okay, they will break the heart of the one who was there for them in their 'bleeding days'

2. ALWAYS UNDER:
Have you ever seen a lady who wear her sanitary pad on her head as an headgear ? Or tie it around her waist? No! It is always under. It is always 'buried' under. If you are in a relationship or marriage, and you are subjected, subdued and your potential, voice, dreams, passions, skills, self esteem are buried under because your partner is domineering and dominating you. That's a 'Sanitary Pad relationship' Look here sir/ma, you have no right whatsoever to bury someone's life under you all in name that the person is in a relationship with you. Even in marriage, being submissive is not the same as being subdued.

3. CHEAP:
Sanitary pads are relatively cheap. In a relationship where you throw yourself cheap to a guy/lady just to be accepted by him/her. In a relationship where with 500 naira or 100 naira Recharge card, your pant can fall off as if it has no elastic band in it and your back could be easily laid on the bed for a quickie just because of 1,000 naira. That's a Sanitary Pad relationship. In a relationship where your partner treats you so cheaply without according you any honour and dignity as an image of God, know for sure, you are in a Sanitary Pad Relationship!

4. YOU CAN'T FLAUNT IT:
Have you seen someone flaunting her used sanitary pad? I have not seen. You hide it after usage. If you are in a relationship and that guy/lady is hiding you from his/her parents for years, hiding you from his/her friends, pastor, and other key people in his/her life, verily verily I say unto you, thou are in a sanitary pad relationship. Gba be!

5: TREATED WITH DISDAIN:
When your partner keeps telling you ' You are irritating me', I hate you, ' you are like a mistake in my life' 'I am just tolerating you' These are statements that show you are being treated with disdain just like a woman will treat and hold her used sanitary pad. Don't go ahead and marry such a person. You are to be treated with dignity, not with disdain attitude.

6: USED AND DUMPED:
Most sanitary pads come with 'use it and dump it in the bin' instruction. You don't keep it. You don't value it greatly like that. If you are in a relationship and you are feeling being used for the selfish purpose of that your guy/lady, it could be a clear indication that, you are a 'sanitary pad relationship' Dear friend, are you treating your partner like a sanitary pad? Just using his/her money, connection, brain, influence, strength ,etc to achieve your own selfish ambition and in your heart of heart,you are planning to dump her/him once you achieve your plans. I tell you the truth today, you are wicked! Hear what the Lord said concerning you. Read this well ' If you repay good with evil, evil will never leave your house'. (Proverbs 17:13)

7: NO LIFE LOYALTY:
I was reading a post made by a lady asking her friends to suggest the best sanitary pad for her. Many ladies came on that post and were recommending so many sanitary pads. Many ladies started saying they will try this maker and try that brand of pad. What does that suggest to you?, a woman can have more than one brand of sanitary pad depending on the cheapness and effectiveness.(by Ordinary prince)

*1. CONSTANT COMMUNICATION*

The Number one thing to do in order to maintain a good long distance relationship is constant communication, if you can cover the aspects of communication, it would have a achieved at least 50% of the requirements.

When there is constant communication, its very easy to have a heart to heart communication, you get to speak to your spouse and make sure they are OK, make sure you speak to them by calling them, you can also send text messages, if you don't normally have airtime to call, send them a text message, you can also take advantage of communicating through social media.

*2. NEVER LET A DAY END WITHOUT SETTLING ANY FORM OF MISUNDERSTANDING*

One of the major challenge that leads of the end of most distant relationship is the fact that after a misunderstanding most couple don't talk about it and settle the issue immediately, they let it linger for a long time.

After a misunderstanding, make sure you talk about it and resolve the misunderstanding, don't let it exceed a day, after a misunderstanding no matter how bad, make sure you pick up your spouse's call, stop ignoring their calls, it won't help matters at all. When they call pick the call and hear them out, but no matter what make sure the misunderstanding don't last more than a day.

*3. STOP LISTENING TO ANYTHING ANYONE SAYS ABOUT THEM*

When you're in a distance relationship, don't follow or listen to anything people come to tell you about your spouse, when your spouse is not around people tend to say bad things don't listen to them.

*4. STOP SUSPECTING THEY ARE CHEATING ON YOU*

In most distant relationship, most people tend to have the feeling that their spouse is cheating on them because they are not in the same state, this may not be true.

*5. CREATE TIME FOR EACH OTHER*
