According to news on January 9, the European Commission approved a German state aid plan totaling 902 million euros to support the Swedish company Nordvolt to establish an electric vehicle battery factory in Germany to cope with the challenges to European industry caused by the US Inflation Reduction Act. According to the plan, Germany will directly allocate 700 million euros to Nordvolt and provide a guarantee of 202 million euros to support the latter in building an advanced and efficient electric vehicle battery factory in the city of Heide in northern Germany.
