🌱 An important milestone for ECOmbare and the green future of Cyprus

Alongside our tree-planting work across Cyprus, we actively engage in international exchange. In November, we were invited to the Towards a Greener Future summit, organised by Ideopsis, Ambassade de France à Chypre and Embassy of the Netherlands in Cyprus 🤝

One of the key speakers was Wout Hoff, CEO of Groasis — the company behind the Waterboxx technology we use. Today, this technology is applied in 70 countries worldwide, helping trees survive even in desert conditions 🏜

In 2024, we became Groasis partners and launched a pilot project in Cyprus.
🌳 500+ trees planted
🔥 90% survival rate, even in July at +42°C and without irrigation

During the summit, we also spoke with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and environmental departments. According to national plans, over 100,000 trees are to be planted annually in Cyprus, and we believe our experience can support this effort while saving precious water resources 🌳

After the event, Wout personally visited our planting sites, reviewed the results, and shared valuable on-site advice.

🌳 We did it! 🌳
On November 29, our first volunteer tree-planting event took place in Agios Amvrosios — and it was a huge success 💚

This day was made possible thanks to the support of Andrey & Julia Dashin's Foundation, Exinity and generous donations from volunteers via GoGetFund.

👨👩👧👦 Over 250 participants — friends, families, kids
🌱 140 trees planted using Groasis Waterboxx® technology
🔥 Next to the fire-scarred slopes, a brand-new alley of life is now growing

Participants planted a tree and received a personal number — you’re now the proud godparents of your seedlings 💚

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us!
You followed instructions, carried and assembled the boxes, planted, watered, and even helped push the water truck uphill 😅
We truly couldn’t have done this without you.

☔ And we were lucky with the weather — the rain came! The Waterboxxes filled up, the roots got the moisture they needed, and the trees are settling into their new home 🌧️🌿

✨ What’s next?
Come visit your trees:
• every 2 months in winter
• every 3 weeks in summer
Watch them grow, take photos, enjoy the moment, and share your updates in Stories using 📸🌱

After the “Restore Forest” Fundraising Corporate Beach Volleyball Tournament on November 8, supported by Title Sponsors Andrey & Julia Dashin's Foundation and Exinity, along with contributions from participants and donors, we’re moving to the next phase: planting an alley of 150 trees and launching a Groasis Waterboxx® pilot program.

📍 The planting will take place in the mountains near the Agia Elisavet Church in Agios Amvrosios, along the burned slopes.

💚 We invite volunteers to learn the Groasis Waterboxx method, plant their own tree, and care for it throughout the year.

What to expect:
🌿 5 groups with allocated planting times (pre-registration required)
📘 Groasis Waterboxx technology training
🌱 Plant 1 tree per person, family or group
🔢 Each tree is assigned a unique number for year-round care

In Cyprus, planting trees is just the beginning. The real challenge? Making sure they survive.
🔥 Wildfires + 💧 water crisis = tough conditions.

That’s why we don’t just plant — we teach how to plant right.
This week, through the Erasmus program, we showed kids from Latvia, Estonia, Finland & Cyprus how to use the Waterboxx 🌱 — a smart tool that already helped grow millions of trees worldwide.

We talked about:
✅ avoiding common planting mistakes
✅ choosing strong seedlings
✅ protecting young trees in the summer heat

And the best part? ✨ Watching their eyes light up when they realized: with the right knowledge, we really can restore ecosystems — together 💚

🐝 Saving the bees — the Playrix way!
This World Bee Day, we teamed up with .eu and to create a super fun (and seriously impactful) team-building event for as part of our Adopt the Hive program

What went down:
🟣 The team suited up as beekeepers and learned all about pollinators
🟣 Painted and adopted 13 colorful corporate beehives
🟣 These hives will soon be home to real bee colonies — helping local ecosystems thrive
🟣 More bees = more pollination = healthier planet
🟣 And yes, Playrix will get their own corporate honey by the end of the season!

🐝🐝🐝 We often hear that we can’t survive without bees — but how often do we truly understand why?

At ECOmbare, we believe everything starts with education. That’s why together with and we create hands-on events where people can learn about the hidden role bees play in our ecosystems, food systems, and climate balance.

To mark World Bee Day, we partnered with in the Adopt the Hive initiative on Cyprus.

🟠 Playrix adopted 13 beehives, which were hand-painted in company colors and placed in protected areas.
🟠 Each one now houses a real colony that will help restore pollination and biodiversity in the region.
🟠 Throughout the season, Playrix will receive updates about their bees.
🟠 At the end, they’ll harvest natural honey from their own hives.

It’s a beautiful way to turn awareness into action — and to support nature where it needs it most.

🏐 That’s why we’ve teamed up with Limassol to bring you an exciting corporate tournament – Play for Nature! 🌱

📅 On March 29, 12 teams will hit the Municipal Courts in Limassol for an epic day of volleyball, competition, and pure fun. But this isn’t just about the game – it’s also about giving back to nature!

🌳 This tournament is dedicated to reforesting Cyprus. To honor the winning teams, a corporate-named tree will be planted in the mountains of Cyprus – a lasting symbol of their victory! 🌿🏆

🌳 Thanks to Groasis Waterboxx technology, these trees will have everything they need to grow strong and thrive – just like your team!
