Next, Peter Möller, Sustainability Leader for Energy Purchasing Development at IKEA, took the stage to present on "Decarbonising IKEA Supply Chain."

Peter highlighted IKEA's main priority: drastically reducing greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain, with a goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050. He emphasized the critical focus on production and materials, which account for more than half of IKEA's carbon footprint. To achieve this, IKEA is taking bold actions on energy efficiency, phasing out fossil fuels, advancing electrification, and increasing electricity generation from renewable sources. Additionally, IKEA is working towards shifting from fossil-based raw materials to renewable ones, while increasing the use of circular materials to close the production loop.

Peter’s presentation provided an inspiring look at IKEA’s strategy for navigating complex supply chains and significantly reducing environmental impact.
