It's funny how your environment changes your music. Right now I'm searching for new music for my new project Tributronic. As I'm working with a musician, I have to take into consideration, that he needs space. And our gigs will most likely be taking place at beach bars, when the sun goes down, summer and vacation vibes, beer, longdrinks and w**d. That kind of setting. So I am getting more afro house and tech house vibes with a lot of percussions, nice melodies and (often Spanish) vocals.

Fun and exiting.

So, a little update on my collaborative project.

I love to play solo, but if I have the choice to do something special, it's what I prefer. I had the great opportunity back in Germany to be part of the Jazztechno.com collective - doing wild jam sessions with real musicians. And now it's time to revive this experience in a different format and style.

The musician I am going to work with not only plays my favorite instrument, the hang drum (also known as pan drum), but also flute, djembe and a variety of other percussions. And he's also a tabla master.

I on my side will try to incorparate percussion loops in my sets to make sure to meet the Spanish vibe. And probably in the future use a loop station as well.

Getting gigs here is not easy and I feel a little bit like back in the days when I got my first gigs :-) My friend has the connections, but we need to produce a demo video to get the foot in the door. The first tourists are already here and the season is about to start, so there's a little bit of pressure - which is actually good to avoid procrastination :-)

So fingers crossed everything goes well and I can revive my passion and help this man make some money. Let's go!

You know I love the idea to change the world with music. I played on quiet some charity events and had 1.500 trees planted by my music label.

Now it's time to help on an individual level. I know a passionate musician here in the south of Spain, who plays the hang drum and a ton of percussion. Poor guy who lives in a tiny, broken caravan without electricity and running water.

If everything goes well, we will be playing together soon. I will not take any money and let it all to him instead. This could be a big help for him.

I'm not telling this because my ego needs it. I do it because I want to inspire more people to help others - within their possibilities and passion. You CAN have fun and care about others at the same time. And you WILL feel so alive and full if purpose.

Love and pacience. That's the key IMHO.

Who actually has a sound treated studio? Most people don't have the space or the money to do it properly. And if you can't hear properly what's going on in your mix, because your room is an acoustic mess, you will hardly produce good mixes. I went through this for most of the time.

But there is a solution. A real game changer. F*ck your room or expensive monitor speakers. I tell you, you don't need them and most of the time they don't work.

Get these. Best music product I ever bought. By far. All acoustic problems solved. Mark my words.

For a while now I feel like I have lost my flow when djing. Could be my age, could be the very quiet and relaxed life I'm living in the countryside, could be the lack of parties, could be I'm simply bored.

So I am thinking about exploring different genres. More breakbeats maybe? More percussive styles like afro house? Classic house?

I'm so saturated of melodic techno and I hate all the new hard and fast techno.

Anyway, it's interesting what happens over time after listening to electronic music for 35 years. Let's see where it takes me digging different crates...
