🌚 The End of the After 🌝

The chill room had been moved to the dancefloor, which is covered now with pillows and mattresses and tired bodies that cling on to the vague memories of a blessed night are talking and melting on them. Carina exchanges looks with Zoukaï and can almost taste his tiredness. They are both happy with her taking over and she is softly calling for the last chapter of this wonderful gathering.

That very moment is the beginning of this live recording - at about 12 pm of an October Sunday in a well known living room. Diving into gentle electronica waves, pushing beneath organic chords and deep frequencies, slowly sneaking towards uplifting hills and ever twirling melodies. With this burning desire of a never ending after she pulls and holds and leads into the golden light of day...

🎢 DJ Workshop - Learn to play on a club set-up 🎢

You're used to playing on a controller but want to go to the next step? In this workshop, we'll introduce you to a play on the same gear that you'll have in a club.

As well as last time, the workshop 🎧, will be held by members of Kiebitz 🐦. Steiner, DJ and Two Dots, producer and DJ. They will guide you through the use of CDJs and a mixer so you can feel comfortable playing around with this gear.

With this mix, I wanted to showcase a very important side of my repertoire. Stuff I listen to in my spare time and enjoy playing, alongside garage and UKFunky.

I started off with energetic sounds drawing on a diverse range of influences, from techno and house to the many styles of Latin percussion and then transitioned into the heavier and bassy rhythms of "Funk carioca", a hip hop-influenced style from Rio de Janeiro, that has become increasingly popular among working classes in Brazil. "My friends from Leipzig asked me to record a set for their crew: Kiebitz. After spending 6 weeks next to the sea between the atlantic on the portuguese and french coast, the channel in Bretagne and the Mediterranean sea. Each of them with its own characteristics. I felt like playing some organic and liquid sounds, different from what I usually play. After a very turbulent winter, I managed to slow down and soak up the sun.

This reflects the state of mind I'm in: posée et reposée. Because that is how water makes you feel."

Dear Kiebitz lovers. We are glad and happy to announce our collaboration with the collective Tribu.x for the organisation of a Soliparty happening on the 08.04 to help out AmEnde for a fresh new start 💥🌟

The AmEnde, an open community space in the far west, is finally getting a kitchen.
Thanks to many motivated hands, the renovation is complete and only the equipment is missing.
The place is already being used by various groups and there will be regular KüfAs and other
events to bring the neighborhood together and create a non-commercial space for people to meet.

Your idea of a life in solidarity was intact. Then came the kids. Suddenly there's no room anymore in your shared flat. Your childless friends don't care about your brats. Your life shrinks to a family flat and you realise: I have kids. What about the ideas of solidarity?

Here is what she has to say:
Being behind the decks is an act of empowerment. Both in the message it carries and in the people who convey it. This is what Steiner stands for with her energetic, cathartic music, in which she offers an escape from the violence of everyday life. A fervent activist, she cannot imagine any music that is not political. Simply because declaring oneself "apolitical" already constitutes a political position, often associated with privileges. Steiner knows and feels every day that she evolves in an environment still largely dominated by people assigned male at birth, white, able-bodied, thin and heterosexual. Although the environment is changing, there is still a lot of progress to be made. And to fight this battle, you need strength. That's the motto she had when recording this mix that will make you want to smash everything, or at least capitalism and patriarchy
