It is a fusion of African and European musical traditions that began in Jamaica in the 19th century! Anyone who has heard the music of Harry Belafonte may unknowingly be familiar with a number of Mento/Jamaican folk songs.
Finally I found a way to watch this documentary about. The movie exists since 2017, but never made it into Cinemas or Streaming Services, till now.
