“An excellent trade fair highlight at this year's the 3D-printed center console from Bayerische Motoren Werke,” explains Thilo Stier from Akro-Plastic. For the first time in large-scale automotive production, a component made of bio-based polymer with recycled carbon fiber was created using the 3D printing process.

The outstanding implementation, the low carbon footprint and the impressive strength of the component impressed the SPE AutomotiveAwardjury so much that it achieved the highest score across all categories.
As a result, load-bearing 3D-printed components are now finding their way into large-scale automotive production.Congratulations to your team and the BMW Deutschland. 💚 💚

PRESS RELEASE The 30th Fakuma international trade fair for plastics processing will take place in just less than two years with new event scheduling: Fakuma’s anniversary event will take place in Friedrichshafen from Monday the 12th through Friday the 16th of October, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This change represents the majority preference based on a survey regarding event scheduling.

🌟 PREMIERE 🌟 at 👉 ENGEL presented the new e-mac 500, which combines high performance, energy efficiency and a compact design to meet the requirements of modern production environments. A real visitor magnet that inspired many injection molding experts.

🌟 Recap: MicroPower from the Wittmann Group Group inspires ✅ At Fakuma 2024, the WITTMANN Group's MicroPower injection molding machine received a great response. This high-precision technology was highly appreciated by numerous visitors and impressed them with its ability to pe*****te from the micro to the nano range.

Enormous potential is seen for the medical technology and electronics industries in particular. The high visitor frequency shows how important such innovations are for the industry. More than 500 interested young people took advantage of the invitation to visit the trade fair on 18 October 2024 and have a look behind the scenes of the plastics industry, establish contacts and explore opportunities for their own professional development. PRESS RELEASE The 29th Fakuma 2024 trade fair was a major success, showcasing innovations in efficiency, sustainability, and the circular economy. 1,639 exhibitors from 47.5% international backgrounds filled 12 halls, engaging in lively discussions and productive meetings. Highlights included a panel on digitalization and Career Friday for young talent. With 36,675 visitors and high spirits, Bettina Schall expressed optimism for the industry’s future, inviting stakeholders to the 30th Fakuma in 2026. Here is the final report:
