Schon als Kind begann MacGowan, Alkohol zu trinken. Später litt er an den Folgen starken Alkohol- und Drogenmissbrauchs. Er starb an einer viralen Gehirnentzündung.

Lang ist es her... wir freuen uns sehr auf dieses Wiedersehen!

Mit einer aufregenden Mischung aus Geigen- und Gitarrenmusik bringen Zoë Conway + John Mc Intyre einfühlsame Arrangements von traditioneller irischer Musik, Kompositionen und Liedern auf die Bühne. Das Folk-Duo besitzt die seltene Fähigkeit, Stücke aus anderen Genres wie Klassik, Jazz und Weltmusik in ihr Repertoire aufzunehmen und dieses Material auf eine Art und Weise zu interpretieren, die das Publikum unweigerlich in den Bann zieht.

Zoë stand bereits mit Künstlern wie Damien Rice, Lou Reed, Nick Cave und Rodrigo y Gabriella auf der Bühne. Als Solistin tritt sie mit namhaften Orchestern wie dem Irish Chamber Orchestra, dem National Symphony Orchestra, dem BBC Symphony Orchestra und dem WDR Sinfonieorchester auf.

John begann seine Karriere als E-Gitarrist bei der erfolgreichen Indie-Band The Revs, mit der er auf vielen berühmten Bühnen und Festivals zu hören war, darunter dem Oxygen Festival in Irland sowie Reading und Leeds im Vereinigten Königreich.

Zusammen wurden die beiden als "einfach eines der besten Folk-Duos der Welt" (BBC). Vom beliebten YouTube-Kanal BalconyTV wurden sie als beste Live-Show ausgezeichnet.

Peter Braukmann ist es zu verdanken, dass Zoë und John endlich wieder in Deutschland zu erleben sind:

Can't wait to see these chairs occupied by merry musicians again!

On March 14, 2020, we cancelled our regular Sunday session at Two Fellas Brewery, thinking we would be back in action four weeks later. We all know how that went - raise your hands if you, like me, still mean 2019 when you say "last year".

On December 11, 2022, at 7 p.m., the Two Fellas Sunday session will finally return. This one will be our kick-off, hopefully followed by weekly or bi-weekly (TBD!) Sunday merriments next year. Drinks for musicians will be 50 %, and the 10 p.m. curfew is still in place, which means the earlier you come, the longer you get to play. For those who haven't been: U2 Vinetastraße is the closest stop. Hope to see many familiar and new faces for tunes, songs, and pints - thank you to Michael Moineau at TwoFellas for having us again!

Good bye Irish Harp, you will be missed! Thank you for many a great session, concert and New Year’s Eve party over the years. Thanks to all the staff and to all of the live musicians, session players and guests who made it special. We hope you’ll get another life - who knows?

A few years back, a cousin of mine Billy got a call in the middle of the night that changed his life forever. A few hours later he was helicoptered to the UK where surgeons performed a full lung transplant on him. Today he is as healthy as you get! (bar a few meds) His resilience was what stood out the most, his will to live and not let a horrible disease win.. This song is for you Billy!

Proudly presenting the latest addition to our happy Irish Harp family of great musicians: Cormac O' Keeffe is a Berlin based Irish musician from Co. Meath who inherited an obsession with music from his father, who turned him on to greats like Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Tom Waits at an early age. He soon embarked on a mission to conquer the guitar chords. Three chords became four chords became five and he hasn't stopped playing since! He developed a love for singing and the camaraderie of music sessions playing around the pubs of Dublin and beyond.
Expect to hear classic folk and rock songs with the odd 80's classic thrown in too. Start as always at 9 p.m., free entry. Please give Cormac a big, warm welcome!

Berlin based Irish singer-songwriter Danny O Connor Music used the involuntary break from live music during the Covid-pandemic well: Together with long-term friend, producer and musical collaborator Moe Jaksch, he spent many hours at Moe's Rockin Chair Studio writing, arranging and recording new songs.

The resulting album WISDOM & GRAFT is due for release on September 2, 2022.

In the run-up to the album release, Danny will be treating his fans and friends to three exclusive single releases. The first one, NORTHERN LIGHTS, came out today, June 6. An upbeat, gospel-influenced track reflecting on Danny’s childhood dream of travelling to the far North to see the auroras, the energetic song features Berlin based Gospel/Soul legend Ingrid Arthur on backing vocals.
