ACTIMENTIA is an ongoing European collaborative project that has been funded with the support of the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. It lasts from 2018 to 2021. Its main objective is the training of formal and informal caregivers of elderly people through the development of an open interactive e-learning platform, on the benefits of physical exercise and activity for patients with dement
ia, which can be performed in their familiar living environment (at home or at the community care setting). ACTIMENTIA’s e-learning platform will train and guide formal and informal caregivers to be able to perform basic physical exercises and activities for physical as well as psychological and mental empowerment of both the patient and themselves. Performing physical activity in a home or community care based setting, is an effective and intrinsically attractive way to promote physical activity training in MCI and dementia care and to modulate caregiver burden. The partners of the Actimentia project are: The Institute of Sports Science at the university of Münster (Germany), coordinator BFI Oberösterreich (Austria) Association Generations (Bulgaria) Interactive 4D (France) The Zinman College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the Wingate Institute (Israel) PLinEU (Poland) Wohlfahrtswerk für Baden-Württemberg (Germany).
