Täpselt nädala pärast saab avapaugu SOFF: Spordi- ja Olümpiafilmide Festival! 🎉 Esimene festivali filmiseanss saab olema väga eriline, sest maailma esilinastub film, mida peeti kaua kadunuks. Toome esmakordselt publiku ette ainukese teadaoleva filmilõigu legendaarse Eesti maadleja Georg Hackenschmidti maadlusmatšist. 🤼
SOFF x TARTU 2024 esitlevad: Hackenschmidt-Rogers [Suur Maadlusmatš] kajastab üht 20. sajandi alguse tähtsamat maadlusmatši legendaarse Eesti jõumehe Georg Hackenschmidti ja ameeriklase Joe Rogersi vahel. Algselt 1908. aasta veebruaris filmitud ja tuntud Charles Urbani toodetud haruldane kaader on märkimisväärne leid, mis annab tõetruu ülevaate maadluse kuldajastust. 💪

🎥 WORLD PREMIERE AT SOFF 🎥
Exactly one week from now, the sports and olympic film festival SOFF will kick off! 🎉 The first screening of the festival will be very special, as it will feature the world premiere of a film long thought lost. For the first time ever, we are bringing to the public the only known footage of the legendary Estonian wrestler Georg Hackenschmidt in action. 🤼
The film "The Great Wrestling Match" showcasing one of the most important wrestling matches of the early 20th century between the legendary Estonian strongman Georg Hackenschmidt and the American Joe Rogers. Originally filmed in February 1908 and produced by the famous Charles Urban, this rare footage is a remarkable find that offers an authentic glimpse into the golden age of wrestling. 💪
