The Gravies Catering and Events, located in Nasr City is hiring Head Chef with the following requirements:
"Responsibilities":
- Manages the Kitchen team to include efficient staffing, employee development and training and performance management.
- Participates in food preparation during meal periods.
- Maintains clean and sanitary food preparation and storage areas at all times in accordance with.
- Makes purchasing decisions (food, paper goods, supplies) for the store, ensuring budgetary considerations.
- Determines the events food cost and prepares the market list accordingly.
- Determines the equipment needs for buffet setup in any events.
- Develops strategies for increasing sales and profitability within management scope.
- Prepares the weekly kitchen work schedules.
- Provides for the timely repair, maintenance, and upkeep of all kitchen equipment and/or mechanical systems.
- Develops and implements new kitchen policies as required.
- Promotes and maintains the highest level of customer service to all guests while staying alert to their needs.
- Responds effectively to guest inquiries while providing excellent guest service.
- Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to management.
- Notifies senior management of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1- Hotels, Catering companies experience. Fine dinning, Banqueting.
2- High school diploma or equivalent/Culinary certification or degree preferred
3- Five years supervisory experience in quality food and beverage production.
4- Experience in multi-tasking of projects and project management.
5- Basic Administrative computer skills.
6- Excellent guest service and hospitality skills.
7- Strong problem solving and listening skills.
8- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
9- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
10- Ability to function and act independently.
11- Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively both written & oral.
12- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines.
13- Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
