Since he got his first pair of Technics over 20 years ago, Simon Better Late’s (aka Simon Boulind) passion for electronic music has taken him to constant new heights. Originally from London, he started mixing UK House & Garage, as well as Electro, in some of the best bars, clubs & parties of the city, such as Area, Chapel bar, Ghost, Pacha, EGG, Fluid, Ministry of Sound, and The Wi******er. He won
the competition for best new DJ of the year at the 1000 capacity Atlantis club (part of EFFC). He also played at the Disco Hustlers stage at Notting Hill Carnival, created his own Electro party called Pure Filth, and had a residency at The Russian, Dalston (now The Shelter). He has since gone international, with over a year and a half touring Brazil where he headlined at a number of clubs and large outdoor events. For example, Deputamadre, Loops, Bu Techno, Peppers Hall, Pulsar, Toca, Quarteirão Eletrônico festival, PSY 4U festival, Anubis festival, Acid festival, Other Side festival and Kaleidoscope festival. Then in 2013, he moved to his now-home of Barcelona, where he has become a regular on the underground scene playing at a number of clubs and parties including Macarena Club, The Apartment Club, Slow Club, Blocko 68, Rebel Phonk festivals, Nowhere festival, and had a residency in Ice Bar. He continues to also promote his own events, including UK House & Garage at Garage 442, a monthly house & techno night at Freedonia, and a funky house beach party near El Prat de Llobregat airport called Funk It! He also continues to DJ around Europe, including at Boom Festival in Portugal and Ecoche En Stock in France. His high-quality sound, precision mixing, and professional expertise led him to open his own DJ academy in Barcelona, On Tempo, in 2019. Over 170 students have come through his doors, and can be found DJing in all corners of the world. The academy has been rated #1 DJ academy in Barcelona by ForBcnLovers.com, and raving reviews from alumni make it clear as to why. With his passion and skill for DJing and his ability to read and respond to the crowd, you can expect to see him crossing many styles in his dancefloor-shaking sets, always keeping it groovy and working with the crowd to include warm chunky house and tech tracks alongside tribal beats, weaving in a handful of classics, inspired by his deep-rooted love of underground music. His track selection and mixing skills are unparalleled and of the highest creative quality. He thrives on diversity and is just as comfortable playing a laid-back afternoon beach bar set as he is playing a peak-time 4am set in a warehouse. No matter the place or time, he can connect to the energy of the people listening and get the whole floor stomping and following along on his deep, exciting, and story-telling journey.
