Inspired by the music and lyrics from a bygone time, never to be forgotten era of pioneering dance music and the legend that is Larry Levan and the Paradise Garage that operated in New York City from 1977 to 1987. 'I'm in love with you' are the opening lyrics from 𝗚𝘄𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗲 - 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘂𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 which was remixed by Larry. It was also sampled for '𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺’ 𝗯𝘆 𝗡-𝗝𝗼𝗶.

So the last 2 nights, Friday and Saturday I have been playing at Kasheme in Zurich, Switzerland. A wonderful space, created and ran by people who clearly have love and passion for everything they do, great cocktails, amazing sound, amazing team who care, and full of people who love good, left-field music. If you get to Zurich I highly recommend you visit and enjoy this wonderful venue.

The next and final instalment of the 2023 NuNorthern Soul poolside cool Pikes Ibiza takeovers is on Sept 21st and features DJ Supermarkt [Too Slow To Disco], Macca [NTS Radio], Picko [One Million Sunsets] plus myself.

The usual drill, 11am to midnight, ambient adventures, pool grooves, sunshine soul, balearic curveballs and sonic sojourns into [un]familiar territories.

So in the midst of covid I opened up the NuNorthern Soul Mixcloud and invited friends and family of the label to contribute mixes plus anyone who wanted to put together their Balearic selections could also get involved. There are so many people with amazing music collections thats don't get the chance to showcase what they love so the NuNorthern Soul All Stars channel was created. I am posting this mix from Macca who hosts the Saturday morning show on NTS Radio because in on Saturday 29th July I will be joining him on his show then in the evening we will be playing at The Gun - London, it will be Balearic, but not that Balearic to coin Maccas phrase.

A few years ago in peak covid lock down I connected with a load of people, some old acquaintance and some new found friends, DJ Gripper falls into the the first group. Through my daily live broadcasts from Ibiza and the radio stuff Gripper was doing as part of the Barrow Underground Music Society we were in touch daily and he informed me he had wrote an album which I eventually released on my NuNorthern Soul label. Well in Spetemeber this year I will be releasing Grippers second album under his 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗘𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘀 guise.
