👉Their goal is to plant 230 Million Trees in the heavily deforested Usambara biodiversity hotspot - Tanzania.
This activity, besides strongly rise the number of trees in this area,
will create jobs, income, and food security for local communities.

New video to present the San Antonio Women's Cooperative 🙋♀️
When a traveler visits this project can be in touch, not only, with the traditional Mayan pottery work but also with traditional Mayan cuisine.
Timotea'team offers to the tourist a pottery workshop and demonstration and, after the class provides a typical dinner family style.
We did all of that, creating our own pottery cup.
Belize has a high rate of poverty. While 42 percent of the general population is affected, up to 50 percent of Belizean children under age 15 are classified as poor--58 percent of Belize's youth under 18 are classified as multi-dimensionally poor.
Gender equality in Belize was reported at 1 % in 2020, according to the World Bank collection of development indicators
Women are often underpaid.
Planeterra works to break this cycle, which is why in 2016, they partnered with the San Antonio Women’s Cooperative in a rural area outside of San Ignacio, to create a constant flow of tourists and consequently of economic funds.
This project is a perfect model of how tourism can be a huge resource to create job opportunities, minimize gender differences, help the local community, share ancient traditions, and share unique moments during the trip.

San Antonio Women's Cooperative is a non-profit organization located in San Antonio Village - BELIZE
It is a small pottery cooperative, run by local resident President Timotea, and "her woman", who was dreaming of how to capture the volume of travelers coming to Belize.
This project has many goals, among the most important to empower women, to inspire children to protect and share traditional knowledge.

EcoTurism in 🇳🇮
This time we spent a couple of days on the beautiful Island of Ometepe, and we used all the services offered by the association Puesta de Sol: Homestay accommodation, activities and tours, local dinners, and lunches.
Puesta del Sol community association was founded by the women of the village to create more job opportunities on the island of Ometepe and avoid forcing many people to emigrate.
This Tourism program provides 17 families with the opportunity to benefit from tourism and create benefits for more than 520 members of the community. Thanks to this project new job opportunities for the Community of La Paloma has created, strengthening the economy and the quality of life.
works with the community of La Paloma on Ometepe Island to strengthen the homestay program and visitor center for groups aside from helping to introduce Puesta Del Sol to tour operator G Adventures to help provide a steady stream of travelers.
All the money derived from this kind of Rural Tourism is used to invest in the Community infrastructure (local schools, local parks, and others), to provide scholarships for the kids, and support the elderly.
♻️Puesta de Sol is the perfect solution for travelers who decide to see the island through the eyes of a local, and of course, their solutions are also very cheap.

Life on an island, its "Go slow" style, and the iconic spots of Caye Caulker.
We spent a day with Bike of purpose, a small association that offers bike tours to tourists with the proposal to recollect money for Ocean Acadamy.
If you live on an island it can be difficult to get an education.
In CayeCaulker, until 2008, less than 35% of children followed the studies after primary school.
When Ocean Academy was created, thanks the support, all the kids on the island had the opportunity to receive a full education without the need to leave the island or their families.
Today more than 90% of the kids are enrolled in school and Ocean Academy has more than 130 students, 25 of them are directly involved in the Bike with a Purpose project.
We went to meet the young folks, took a tour of the beautiful island, visited the school, and also took a creole lesson 😜

In CayeCaulker, as of 2008, fewer than 35% of children received an education after primary school.
Thanks to financial support, Ocean Academy was created in 2008 in Caye Caulker, a high school that allows boys and girls on the island to continue studying and receive a more complete education without having to leave their families and the island.
With the aim of raising direct funds from tourism, "Bike with Purpose" was born, an association that deals with offering tourist tours by bicycle to discover the most popular spots on the island and explaining the motto of the place: Go Slow!
