What do you get out of a Floral Therapy?
Floral therapy, also called flower therapy, is the art of working with flowers. Similar to yoga, floral therapy is very relaxing. Both have the purpose to realize one’s true nature, to experience the consciousness that is eternal and that is a witness to the body, mind and emotions, which is what we really are.
Flowers have the power to diffuse disputes, instantly transform interiors and perfume a room with beautiful natural fragrances. These fragrances alone are therapeutic; they can enhance the quality of life and transform our emotions.
The act of arranging flowers into a bouquet, centerpiece, or something else, just like the physical postures and exercises of yoga, are therefore done with the aim in mind to allow the body to relax and be still, and the mind and emotions to settle down so that the mind returns to its source and we can finally experience ourselves.
And while it is fun, floral therapy is not about making a professional flower display. If you go to train yourself to become a florist, whenever you do a hand-tied bouquet the wrong way they will teach you how to do it right, but there is no rule in doing floral therapy—there is no right and wrong. We pick our own personal choice of flowers, and involving our emotions and creativity of our hands, we will be creating flowers that is ‘us’.
