❓How can you effectively manage the stress of planning a large corporate event?

"One effective way to manage stress when planning a large corporate event is to break down the project into smaller, more manageable tasks. This allows you to focus on one task at a time, rather than becoming overwhelmed by the enormity of the entire project. Additionally, taking breaks, I like to drink tea whilst practicing mindfulness, Qi Gong or Pilates really helps me. Engaging in physical activity can also help reduce stress levels. Also working with great suppliers and vendors is excellent, having healthy and easy working relationships makes planning events stress-free and fun!"

❓ What are some strategies you use to ensure that event planning does not impact your mental health?

"I prioritise self-care and work-life balance. This means setting boundaries around work hours and making time for fun activities outside of work. I may delegate tasks to other team members or seek external support, such as hiring a freelance event planner, to alleviate some of the pressure."

❓ How do you handle unexpected changes or problems that arise during event planning to prevent stress from escalating?

"I remain flexible and adaptable. This may involve having contingency plans in place, such as backup vendors or alternate event spaces, to address unforeseen issues. Ensuring clear negotiations and agreements are in place with vendors is key."

❓ What are some psychological strategies you use to stay motivated and focused during event planning, even when facing stressful situations? "Event planning can be stressful, and it’s important to have effective psychological strategies to stay motivated and focused.

Mindfulness: Practicing mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, and visualization can help reduce stress and increase focus during event planning.

Goal-setting: Setting clear goals for the event and breaking them down into smaller, achievable tasks can help stay motivated and focused on the bigger picture.

Positive thinking: Maintaining a positive mindset and focusing on the things that are going well can help to reduce stress and increase motivation.

Time management: Effectively managing time by prioritizing tasks, delegating responsibilities, and scheduling breaks can help to avoid burnout and increase productivity.
