USAID Center on Children in Adversity International Youth Digital Leadership Council

The International Youth Digital Leadership Council or “Digital Youth Council” is a 12-member council of young leaders between the ages of 16 and 24 years who are working on issues related to digital platforms and safety, and who are interested in reducing digital harm for children and youth.

Members will work together to advise, inform, and advocate for greater protection from digital harm as the US Agency for International Development (USAID) rolls out its Digital Strategy, thereby strengthening the next generation of digital changemakers and advocates.

Digital Council members are expected to start in March 2021 and serve for one year with the possibility of extension for a second year. The Council is supported by YouthPower2: Learning and Evaluation (YP2LE), a USAID-funded activity focused on building and disseminating the evidence on Positive Youth Development (PYD).

Requirements

The competition is open to individuals or teams worldwide, all aged between 15 and 30 years old (inclusive) as of January 1, 2021. Each individual or team entrant may submit a single entry under each category – contestants cannot enter both as an individual and as part of a team.

Prizes
There are three winning prizes available in each category– 1st prize = $2,500; 2nd prize $1,500; 3rd prize $1,000. Alongside the twelve (12) winners, seven (7) other finalists in each category will receive certificates of recognition and a place in featured compilations.

Coventry University, United Kingdom is offering a scholarship opportunity to International students who are willing to undergo a degree program at the Institution.

Data is everywhere. As the volume and complexity of data collected continues to grow, there is increasing demand for expertise in data science to support the analysis and visualisation of all this information.

The MSc Data Science is a conversion course for graduates from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds looking to pursue a career, or upskill, in this new and rapidly developing field. Data Scientists are in short supply and there is high demand for data science skills across sectors including business, government, healthcare, science, finance, and marketing.

The Office for Students has made 1,000 scholarships available across a number of Universities with the aim of increasing the number of people from underrepresented groups in the AI and data science fields. Applicants to this course at Coventry University may apply for a scholarship of £10,000, to be paid in instalments to assist students with the financial aspects of studying this degree.

ባለፉት 24 ሰዓታት ውስጥ በተደረገ 3,867 የላቦራቶሪ ናሙና ምርመራ 300 ሰዎች በኮሮና ቫይረስ መያዛቸው ተረጋግጧል። በአጠቃላይ እስካሁን በቫይረሱ የተያዙ ሰዎች ቁጥር 117,542 ደርሷል። በሌላ በኩል 1,082 ሰዎች ከበሽታው ያገገሙ ሲሆን በአጠቃላይ እስካሁን ድረስ 96,307 ሰዎች ከበሽታው አገግመዋል።

Seedstars and Shell Foundation have joined forces to look for sustainable, scalable and innovative working towards access to energy, sustainable agriculture* and mobility. The objective of this program is to support, catalyse and train early-stage (seed) tech startups addressing challenges related to access to energy (household energy, energy for business, energy nexus), sustainable agriculture (value chain innovations improving access to finance, technology, market or knowledge) or sustainable mobility (safe rural and last-mile mobility for people and goods) in Africa.

Requirements

The startup must have an existing solution with less than 4 years of existence (average 2 y.o.)
Must act within the following sectors: Mobility, Transportation, Energy, & Agriculture*
Must be an early-stage startup (seed stage with a MVP - minimum viable product)
Must have operations based in Africa
Must show initial traction and/or be generating revenue
Have raised less than $1M USD in investment to date
