Today, 11th of November, marks for me three years as an entrepreneur, CEO of the company and wedding designer for Nord & Mae. This day for me is already something to celebrate and post about, but I also wanted to use this moment and share some news with you all:

from now on I will be continuing running the company and our three wonderul brands - Nord & Mae, Hey Look and Freyia - alone and ofcourse with the help of our wonderful event freelancers.

These past three years have been packed full of eventful moments, many of them quite challenging. This change for sure feels like a well-needed fresh start for the company and frankly, I’m quite excited to see what the future will hold.

To the outside the changes inside the company will not be so visible, except for one thing: from now on you will see even better Nord & Mae creating beautiful weddings to wonderful couples from all over the world. 🤍

What a whirlwind of a two weeks it’s been, but we’re so happy that it’s starting to get more and more busy - FINALLY! And we also have some exciting news: booking for weddings of 2022 and 2023 is now open. Final wedding of this summer season is now done, huge congratulations wonderful L & J! It is always such a bittersweet feeling on the wedding day to say “goodbye” to our couples. These two have been with us since 2019, they have had to move up their wedding 3 times and there has been multiple plans and backup plans and backup plans of backup plans, but now it finally happened and we couldn’t be more happy for them.

We will now take the weekend to rest and relax after a busy week of prepping and creating. Wishing you all such a wonderful Friday and cozy weekend!

We would be fooling ourselves - and you as well - if we’d say we have been fine or even okay during these last 17 months. We have been in full on survival mode since March 2020, battling the effects of this pandemic, trying to keep the company alive and make ends meet all while battling personal anxiety this whole situation has brought along. It has taken us a lot of sleepless nights, unpaid bills (reality check!) and a loooot of tears, but all this has also made us hell of a lot stronger and feeling like we’re capable of anything really.

For me personally, the chance to create weddings again has truly been a lifeline I’ve been hanging on to. From only two weddings last year to only five weddings this year, I am more than excited to start creating something so beautiful for the years to come. Today we are finalizing the last wedding of our summer season and after that the whole September is all about filling up the calendar for 2022. We are so looking forward for all the big weddings, intimate dinners, fun parties and elopements - bring it on!

Welcome to the most wonderful, intimate wedding to Paso Robles, California. It’s hard to think of anything better than waking up really early in the morning to the sunrise and realize, that today you are getting to create the most perfect day for a lovely couple. It’s a feeling that we miss the most this summer, since most of your weddings are only taking place next year. Instead we are working hard on beautiful designs for next year - we can’t wait for you to be able to see them!

Using materials straight from nature has always been one of our favorite things. While many people would still believe that creating beautiful floral arrangements and installations is mostly about using expensive cut flowers, in our case it’s often the other way around. Don’t get us wrong: there’s probably nothing more beautiful than fresh pionies in June, but we are also often the ones who keep company to the ticks and snakes in the woods and hop over ditches to get to the best foraging places. So if you ever see us in the middle of some bush or running around in forests, we’ve not gone crazy. Just busy creating some beautiful floral art for you to enjoy!

It’s always a bit of a surprise to our couples, when they hear that we do all of our graphic design and calligraphy ourselves: everything from Save The Dates and invitations to menus, place cards and signage. The overall feel of the design comes from well thought out details. That’s why beautiful stationery plays such an important part in the wedding design - it’s the first thing your guests see through invitations and usually one of the most kept memorabilia from the wedding.
