She discovered the genre nearly a decade ago, and it was love at first sound. Dara Dunn AKA Lady D, is an Irish/Finnish DJ, event organizer and, from the bottom of her heart a true Drum'n'Bass junglette. She discovered the genre around 6 years ago, and it was love at first sound. With an excellent sense of rhythm and endless creative ideas, Lady D wasn't content on being a mere passive listener. A
t the music scene her partner in crime is also her partner in life. With the aid of hard work and determination, she graduated from the basics to more advanced methods. Lady D has been Djing since 2019, just like the passion for DNB within her, her personal style keeps growing more and more. Her mixing approach focuses on the utilisation of effects and tight cuts with an aggressive, but joyful stage presence. In addition, Lady D is also part of a brand new label & organization, “Breaking Point DNB”, based in Tampere. She also forms another alias with her fiancé called D&J, which concentrates on event organization. Among other things, they have brought many great artists to Tampere, most notably Magnetude: a powerhouse in the DnB scene.

Wibes Festival has definitely been one of my top favorite gigs by far—the place, the people, the energy, OMG ❤️ What a lineup this year, CRAZY 😵💫 I highly recommend you go along for the adventure 🫶

This overwhelming social media life; it bears an impact on my mental health for sure. Being a DJ, the struggle to define what it means today adds confusion. Playing allows me to get lost in the music, feel happiness, be present, and express my love for the genre I’m mad about, which I’ve never felt before, but it falls short on its own. Being a mom and making moments with my kids, ensuring I’m there, taking care of their needs, time slips away, leaving little for networking and draining my energy. Not to mention, giving back to the scene is quite hard at the moment. This even adds the guilt of not giving it my all. The persistent feeling of not being good enough, not having time, adds a challenge to figuring out where I truly belong in this journey of self-discovery. Between 2007 and 2023, my hair has been on quite a transformation journey. If you know me, you'll understand that I enjoy switching up my hairstyles – it's my way of expressing myself. A special shoutout to Etnosaari in Tampere for those fantastic braids – they're truly impressive! 🙌 The rest of my hair journey owes a lot to Pipsa Heiskanen who's a true pro with scissors and color ✂️💫 And if you ever happen to be in Mikkeli, you might want to consider checking out Salon Riley❤️🫶

Little peek from last Saturdays Breaking Point DNB stream. Its the closest thing to a gig these days so grateful for that! I find it hard well overwhelming at times. What people think and say inna a world of "who's a REAL DJ" The debates and arguments that go on its like being in playschool at times. I stay out! I play what I like and concentrate on what I love..DnB🔥 I get to be apart of Breaking Points crew these guys Janne Tamminen & Mikael Tujula you two are awesome. Not to leave outJuho Decion Pirhonen & Lee Kearns you guys.....
