💥 What is Ctrl+Alt+Disinfo?

United with Ukraine Game Jam: Ctrl+Alt+Disinfo is a multi-stage, international, competitive game jam aimed at creating games that teach media literacy and critical thinking.

Here’s how it goes:
1️⃣ A two-day jam - a two-day slot of jammers' choice during The Global Game Jam week (you can start now!)
2️⃣ A two-week jam (February 2025)
3️⃣ A two-month jam (March–April 2025). Winners will be announced in May.

❓ Who is it for? - virtually everyone!

🔥If you’re interested in continuing work on your GGJ game or haven’t decided on a site yet — this is your chance! Register at GGJ Ctrl+Alt+Disinfo and find your teammates.

𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟰𝟬𝟬 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀!

Our activity in 2024 was not limited to game jams, though. Finnish Game Jam sponsored two industry events, namely Mästare and Game Track, where we also presented our traditional honorable awards.

And, just as we honor the outstanding games, we also traditionally recognize the most impactful efforts of our members throughout the year. In 2024 Laura Piispanen was named the Jampion of 2024 for her incredible contribution to the organization of the Quantum Game Jam, and Teemu Kokkonen was named the Jamtivist of 2024 for his all-year-round (and beyond!) active participation in virtually all major events, taking on responsible roles throughout.

We held JamJam, our traditional summer festival aimed at game jams brainstorming, networking, and fun, where a new concept for a jam in the wilderness was born. Without further ado this concept was realized under the name of ProtoKoli, a game jam held in Koli cabins, with creativity boosted by the fresh air, hot sauna, and endless greenery.

And finally, by the end of the year, we welcomed several new members who have already demonstrated fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and a strong willingness to take on new challenges!

If there is currently no Global Game Jam site close to you, or if you are still considering to host a site - we encourage you to join our organizers' community and would like to remind you of these important deadlines:

✔️ Official deadline for registration with Global Game Jam is January 13th, and we will also accept applications until this date.
✔️ If you want to receive full Finnish Game Jam support and get our swag package - register before January 8th! Our traditional swag distribution aims at sites receving their packages before beginning of the jam, thus to avoid issues with post we have to set this deadline.

The earlier you apply the more participants will have a chance to register - the process takes a couple of steps from application to approval, so please keep in mind that the upcoming holiday season will considerably slow it down!
