Chinese calligraphy symbols for Double Happiness, Friendship, Fortune, Serenity, Love, Life, Joy, Family and Prosperity were the names for the tables.

Lai see or red envelopes are given on important occasions and at New Year in China. The red symbolises energy, happiness and good luck. The gold of the calligraphy symbolises happiness and wealth.
The symbol on these lai see is the symbol for Double Happiness.
The envelopes often hold gifts of money but in this case they held the name and table number of each guest!

A Tea Ceremony is a traditional part of a Chinese wedding and is how the newly-weds honour their parents and grandparents.

It's Chinese New Year so I thought I would take this opportunity to share with you over the 16 days celebration, the beautiful wedding of J & R. Living in Hong Kong and J having Chinese heritage they wanted to bring some of the Chinese traditions into their wedding day in France.

Samantha and Andrew wanted a full wedding day but not a late one. So, on a hot summer’s day they had an early ceremony to avoid the heat followed by a relaxing picnic lunch where friends and family could spend the afternoon listening to live music, catching up, playing games or taking a nap before a formal pre-dinner champagne reception, wedding breakfast and party.
