Je travaille la terre en collaboration avec la nature. Je cultive mes fleurs en bio, sans labourer, avec mes propres mains, au rythme des saisons, avec le fumier de mes chevaux et à l’aide de mes amis.

When my grandmother died, my aunt and I made a stunning funeral piece on her coffin with peonies and wild carrot. When May arrives and I see the peonies and carrot blooming I immediately think about her. This happens every year again. Therefore I think it is important to use seasonal flowers for a funeral. Because it is simply that time of year a loved one left you. You can find beauty in every time of the year. Just bare branches in winter covered with some green is beautiful too. Today I made a funeral piece with the last last flowers in my garden. I was surprised what I could still find. Please contact me when you need flowers for a funeral. Everything I make will return to compost.

Today I prepare the Thiviers’s market for tomorrow. I feel so sad and empty because the sweetest dog in the world died. Chili chili chili! I clean my flowers, stem after stem. I listen to the amazing podcasts from Sandine . I look at all those flowers, the abundance of pure beauty in my hands and before my eyes. I drink it in. Sometimes people comment on my flowers: ‘ they are just from the field’ as if that is minor or unworthy. The truth is that they are all carefully chosen, sown and planted by me. Four flower gardens which I tend with all my love and care and bare hands, all the time. In which I have never used chemicals or pesticides or fertilizers or whatever product I could buy to help my flowers grow. The flowers from my homeland Holland are artificial, industrial, cheap and filled with poison. On the outside they may look beautiful, but honestly, they are not! Pure beauty is in flowers that are real, seasonal and natural. Pure beauty is in love. Oh Chili. # flowers # fleurslocale
