A Very French Wedding Wedding photographer South West France, the Dordogne and Charente. I am passionate about photography and couldn’t imagine doing anything else as a career. Ian

Relaxed and informal wedding day story telling with Ian, a British photographer living in France I live in South West France with my wife Louise and our two dogs Evie and Enzo. I enjoy cycling the incredibly quiet roads of rural France, dreaming of a past career as a pro cyclist ( I wish ) and keep bees which supply me with enough honey for the year and
plenty of presents for friends and family.

I am also practicing my carpentry skills when I get the time. I am very experienced working with hair and makeup artists to get the best possible images I can. I love working under pressure and at a fast pace when necessary. I love producing timeless, beautiful images which document such an incredible day in peoples lives. I have a very relaxed and informal style, am easy going, good fun and enjoy making people laugh. I divide my time between France and the UK and am happy to work in either country or further afield. Lets chat.

Vicky and Jack had such an amazing day tying the knot here in France surrounded by family and friends, but it is always nice to grab a little bit of quiet time during the drinks part of the day to wander off and get some romantic pictures amongst the trees.
I never like to take my couples away from the celebrations for too long, normally a brief 20 minutes is all that is needed at this time of the day to get a lovely selection of images.

Another wedding that has the back drop of the beautiful Dordogne village of Villebois Lavalette.

Lilly and Matt celebrated their union together in the subterranean church and enjoyed some peace and quiet strolling around the village with juts a photographer in tow!

They did say afterwards that they hadn't really noticed me much at all during the day, happy with that!

The beautiful Dordogne village that is Villebois Lavalette is one of my favourite loctions for couples shoots.

It is the quintessential French village, a beautiful square surrounded by cafes restaurants and craft shops, some lovely walks, a subterranean church and an ice cream parlor.

Having Emma and Pierce strolling around the village after they tied the knot meant we could capture so many different and natural images for their wedding album, they could interact with each other and not even notice I was there.

That is what I like to do my couples, to give them as little instructions as possible, it makes them feel so much more relaxed and the pictures always reflect this.

With all the formalities of the day over it was time for some fun.
Harriet and Adam tied the knot at the beautiful Chateau de la Couronne and we went for an evening stroll with the bridal party to take some fun pics.

Welcome to the beautiful wedding of Laura and Yan that took place at one of my favourite wedding venues Chateau de La Motte Husson, with the best host's in the business, Dick and Angel.
This was a dream come true for Laura and Yan, both being fans of the Channel 4 series, Escape to the Chateau they wanted it to be the venue where they celebrated their commitment to each other with family and friends, rounded off with an amazing party.

An amazing day in the French summer sun, so many beautiful memories and with weddings starting again soon at the Chateau I am looking forward to sharing more days with loved-up couples who are tying the knot.

tied the knot with Emily in a small country church in the local commune.

An offical ceremony in the Marie followed by a blessing in the local church followed by a small gathering in the Salle de Fetes.

C'était un mariage très français, mon voisin, le fermier local Yannick
s'est marié avec Emily dans une petite église de campagne de la commune locale.

Une cérémonie officielle à la Marie suivie d'une bénédiction dans l'église locale suivie d'un petit rassemblement dans la Salle des Fêtes.
