Our Story
Our menus have been designed, created, tried and tested in the Heart of the Lake District. Our fabulous kitchen is situated just down the lane from Beatrix Potter’s home, who whilst might be well known for creating wonderful books, was also a farmer keenly interested in preserving the local area. Beatrix Potter inspired us to use locally sourced and ethical produce when creating our food.
The lakes catering company started small, delivering fresh and delicious meals to holiday cottages in the local area. However, we soon noticed that our customers wanted more. Now we cater for large events all over the lakes, creating fabulous meals from raw, local ingredients at spectacular venues with great service. Consequently, we had to move office and build a larger, state of the art commercial kitchen. Our menus have evolved as well, we are constantly experimenting with new flavours and ingredients to produce the best tasting foods. We cater for all styles of events, from parties and corporate events to a bride and groom enjoying a fully bespoke dining experience. We love making your event a complete success.
Other places to visit whilst up in the Lake District are our two Cafes. We have been working in partnership with the National Trust at both Café in the Courtyard at the Claife Viewing Station and at the café in Wray Castle. Pop by to taste our delicious soups, casseroles and picnic boxes or chill out with a coffee and a cake enjoying the beautiful views only the Lake District can offer.
