This is something we have touched on before and we find it sad we are having to raise it again.☹️

When you send us an enquiry regarding a dress consult or to book for your alterations, you may not realise, but for us work starts immediately on your enquiry to see if we have availability. This involves checking our booking system for appointment availability and also seeing if we can accommodate the time needed to work on your dress and then sending you a reply with all the details.✍️

So you can appreciate how disheartening it is when we receive no reply back or in social media world we are ghosted when we get back to you. This is a waste of our time as you can appreciate, and it delays us from dealing with genuine enquiries.🫤

All it takes is a quick “No thank you” and we can move onto the next enquiry. Not to mention, it’s just plain good manners, something that seems to be eroding from society very quickly.😢

If the business was to ignore or ghost enquiries, people are very quick to jump on social media slating them and saying about the awful customer service is, so why not behave in the same way you wish to be treated. It is two way courtesy.🫶

So, what happens when you book your bridal alterations with Beautiful Unique?

First off, we offer a free, no obligation dress consultation where we can meet you and take a look at your dress which enables us to give you an accurate quote for any alterations that are needed. You will be given this as a verbal quote at the time of the appointment, which is then followed in writing by email. This quotation is valid for seven days.

If you then want to book with us, we take a small non-refundable booking fee to secure your appointments. You will be given your fitting dates via email so you will have them well in advance. Your first fitting will be approximately eight weeks before your wedding date, your second fitting will be 2-3 weeks before your wedding. If we think you will need any extra fittings, we will schedule these in, we can often determine this at the dress consultation appointment.

At your first fitting, we will take your fitting fee. This covers all the time spent in fittings with us and the after care of your dress including steaming. We break up our costings like this so that we are transparent and you can see exactly what you are paying for.

After your first fitting, we email across a schedule of alterations so you know exactly what is happening to your dress with the costings itemised for you. These will be the costings as per your given quotation. The only time a quotation will change is if something we quoted on the consultation is no longer needed or if you want to add anything not mentioned at the consultation. The costings will be communicated to you before any work starts if different from the original quotation.

Once all work is completed and you are happy, we then schedule a dress collection appointment where your dress will be steamed and ready for the big day.

Alterations to Jo’s beautiful dress included shortening the hemlines, adjusting the sleeves and adding a bustle. We also altered her four lovely bridesmaids’ dresses.😊
