When the door opens and the father of the bride walks in and sees his little girl in her wedding dress for the first time you have no idea exactly what his reaction will be.
I’ve had anything from a complete breakdown in tears to someone who keeps it all inside and very little visible outward emotion.

You keep you camera focussed and your finger on the shutter release as you might get one of the most emotional photos of the whole wedding day captured in just 1/250th of a second.

I always hope for emotion and a great expression but sometimes it doesn’t happen the way you think.

In the case of Francesca’s dad however his expression and reaction was just priceless and photography gold….
I bloody LOVE this ‘first-look’ image it’s exactly what ‘capturing the moment’ is all about for me with my wedding photography approach.

I called this image ‘Wow, just WOW!’

So last night THIS happened at the BIPP (British Institute of Professional Photographers) International 2024/2025 print awards.

I won ‘International Print Master of The Year’ in the Classical Wedding category. I also picked up 3 other finalist nominations in Landscape, Natural World and Classical Wedding categories so I was over the moon!

The winning wedding image (which I will post with the professional photos) was captured on the steps of Hedsor House at the wedding of Vicky & Jordan. I loved the way her veil tumbled down the steps and the image is called ‘The Tumbling Veil’
I took a couple of quick snaps of me whilst I wait for the professional photos to arrive!

On a perfect summers day in August Georgia & Henry, a very lovely past wedding couple of mine, came over to update their family pictures.

I photographed their wedding back in 2016 at The Great Barn, Aynho and a large framed photo from that day takes pride of place in their kitchen.

4 years ago I did a family shoot when their son was one year old and this year the couple wanted some new pictures for the wall now he is 5 and has a gorgeous little sister.

I’m so lucky to live in a village on the edge of the Cotswolds with rolling fields and we had such a gorgeous day in the freshly cut cornfields and mature barley fields.

The family now have two beautiful multi art panels, a large framed print and some smaller frames now hanging in their beautiful home from that day.

It’s the first time I have had the opportunity to photograph a couple in a full sized carousel at a Real Wedding but now box ticked!
Lexi & Dave had the most amazing day at Hedsor a few weeks ago and I literally cannot wait to finish off their photographs to show them at the weekend. A wedding that literally had it all!

So today I’m shooting a bridal bo***ir themed photoshoot shoot for a lovely client getting married in February next year!

The makeup is in full flow and we are shooting in our incredible venue we use for all of our shoots one of the oldest beautiful country houses in Oxford, what a setting!

I’ve had no WiFi or 4G for 5 days which is sort of strange and very lovely in these screen dominated times. This is what I’ve been up to!

Photographed a couple of days ago on Daedalus Reef in the southern Red Sea, Egypt. This is an Oceanic White Tip shark swimming through the early morning sun rays. Was lucky enough to to have it check me out around 4-5ft away later in the dive.

They get more curious and confident when there are not many of you in the water. I certainly wouldn’t like to be the last one left in the water to get back on the boat!!

The beams remind me of the code in The Matrix movie!

Taking a break from posting on the ‘Gram just for a few days whilst I recharge my creative juices doing underwater photography in the Southern Red Sea in Egypt doing this!
Going much further south in the Red Sea than I have been before to St John’s Reef in search of the bigger stuff and hopefully if we are very lucky some closeup action with the Oceanic White Tip sharks.

I was honoured to be awarded Best Beginners Portfolio by underwater association Bsoup which means as much to me as my wedding awards. The underwater photographer friends I know produce such incredible work they are a constant inspiration.

Sneaky Peek Alert
One of the best firework displays I’ve seen for a long time at a wedding.

A full 8 minute, 2 song display of exciting gorgeousness at Hedsor House at Lexi & Dave’s wedding last Saturday!

I’m particularly loving the Carousel on the right looking fab all lit up at night

Sneaky Peek Alert!
Incredible wedding at Hedsor House on Saturday for Lexi & Dave. Despite a questionable weather forecast and just a few spots of rain for a few minutes it stayed fine and dry.
It’s the first time I’ve ever had a chance to photograph a full sized carousel at a wedding and the guests and bridal party had so much fun going round on the horses!

Stylish, Subtle, Stunning Award Winning Wedding Photography across Oxfordshire, Bucks, Berkshire, London and worldwide. It’s safe to say that I know a thing or two about nuptials. As a wedding photographer with many years’ experience and having photographed well over 450 weddings and numerous designer bridal fashion shoots, as well as being a respected photography industry judge, it’s safe to say that I know my Suzanne Neville from my Jenny Packham, my peep toe from my court, and my birdcage from my cathedral (veils!).

Based on the border of Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire, my award-winning wedding photography business, David Bostock Photography, is the quintessential choice for the discerning and particular bride who wants to create a set of photographs that evoke beauty, fun and a genuine sense of emotional sincerity.

An occasion that affords an expanse of creative licence and the invitation to capture truly unique moments on the most important of days, weddings lend themselves perfectly to my knack for dramatic, beautiful, perfectly-timed photography.
